"If Uncle Nathan were truly devoted, he wouldn’t have sent his disabled wife back to her parents’ ho!" Beatrice said indignantly, continuing under Nathan Moore’s gaze.
"A man who despises his own lawfully wedded wife, what devotion is there to speak of!"
Expecting Nathan Moore to get angry, or at least annoyed, Nicholas was about to intervene and explain for Beatrice when he heard Nathan say, "The woman I married is Titus Zane. On our wedding day, she received the blessings of the Priest in the church."
Thus, nominally, she is indeed his lawfully wedded wife.
And Olivia Zane, at best, is just an ex.
It’s not that he is heartless; so things, so people, are like aged wine. It takes years to find out that, in fact, this one suits you best.
Unconvinced by Nathan Moore’s explanation, Beatrice retorted sharply with her chin up and neck stiff.
"Then why is everyone in T city spreading rumors, saying the three of you are in a bizarre relationship, a sister serving one husband! Don’t you know how terrible the things people are saying? And you still let Sister Titus co back to T city, how selfish!"
Nathan Moore paused the cigarette he was about to smoke, pinching it between his thumb and forefinger, and looked at Beatrice. He took a deep breath and for once, seriously explained himself in front of an outsider.
"It’s not as the rumors say, I’ve always shared the bed with Titus Zane,"
Worried that young Beatrice might not understand, Nathan added, "I’ve never touched Lily."
Nicholas was shocked. Olivia Zane had been by Nathan Moore’s side since she was sixteen, and now it had been ten years, yet he had never... touched her!
Was it a matter of cherishing too much, or of not loving?
Nicholas briefly analyzed and felt it was the latter.
Like him and Sophie Foster, they slept together the first night they t, and it was utterly satisfying.

The focus of concern is always misaligned.
Nathan Moore lowered his gaze, took a puff of his cigarette, and said nothing, but his silent attitude said it all.
"Wow..." Another exclamation from Beatrice as she covered her lips, "Sister Titus is really fortunate, actually slept with a virgin man!"
After speaking, she imdiately turned towards Nicholas. Although silent, the bla and disdain in her eyes were obvious.
With a twitch of his lips and feeling guilty, Nicholas looked even more helpless.
A thirty-year-old man still being a virgin, what’s there to envy? ntion that out loud, and one would simply be a laughingstock!
But Beatrice thought otherwise, considering herself a pure maiden, unsullied, under the influence of alcohol
