"Where’s Felix?" Nathan Moore’s obsidian eyes searched the banquet hall, but he didn’t spot the figure of Felix Shaw.
Nicholas Croft curved his lips into a smile, and looked down at the champagne in his hands, his voice helpless.
"He’s still in the lounge throwing a tantrum."
"Throwing a tantrum?" Nathan repeated, puzzled.
"Yeah, apparently he’s taken a fancy to a newcor who just started her career, and wants to marry her, but the old man wouldn’t allow it, so he rushed to settle this engagent for him."
A few days ago, Felix Shaw t a third-tier little starlet at a cocktail party and took a liking to her at first sight. Not only did he bring the starlet back to his apartnt, but he also wanted to marry her.
In elite circles, there are few who would agree to their offspring marrying a starlet, especially a family of scholars like the Shaws.
While Nathan Moore and Nicholas Croft were conversing, Titus Zane quietly stood by their side, his eyes ceaselessly searching through the banquet hall.
Such an important gathering, Logan would surely attend, right?
"Let’s go inside," Nicholas Croft casually glanced at Titus Zane from across the way and suggested with an inscrutable smile on his face.
"See how impatient sister-in-law is getting."
Titus Zane withdrew his gaze, his clasped hands involuntarily tightened, showing an unnaturally restrained expression as if his innermost thoughts were seen through.
Olivia Zane, sitting in the wheelchair, also had an unnatural expression due to Nicholas Croft’s words "sister-in-law."
Although her baby face maintained a smile, her hands gripping the sides of the wheelchair unconsciously clenched.
Nathan Moore turned his eyes toward Titus Zane. There was no discernible emotion in his obsidian gaze as he pushed Olivia Zane and led the way to the banquet hall first.
"Sister-in-law, together," Nicholas Croft said, gentlemanly lifting his arm.
Olivia Zane felt that he must be doing it on purpose; otherwise, why would he call her that twice within such a short amount of ti!
Back when she was in a relationship with Nathan Moore, she often hung out with them and never saw Nicholas Croft being particularly enthusiastic or caring towards her.
Olivia Zane secretly glanced at Nicholas Croft, her dewy eyes narrowing slightly, and the porcelain doll-like face subtly changed color.
Titus Zane politely nodded his head and followed them inside.
Upon seeing Nathan Moore enter, many business partners from the corporate world ca over to greet him.
"Director Moore, Mrs. Moore..."
Titus Zane disliked such hypocritical niceties and cordialities. After smiling and nodding in response, he found an excuse to slip away.
"I’m going over there to get sothing to drink, I’m thirsty."
Nathan Moore casually acknowledged with a simple response, and had to admit, this man really did give Titus Zane face in public.
"Sis, don’t wander too far, Nathan will worry," Olivia Zane called out loudly to Titus Zane’s retreating figure, as if concerned that others may not notice her.
Since she enjoyed acting, Titus Zane was willing to indulge her, turning around with a slight lift of his lips.
"Got it," then he walked towards the food.
Having not eaten dinner, Titus Zane was a bit hungry, he picked out desserts onto his plate, eating slowly. There, Nathan Moore was surrounded by several people chatting, and although most of it was about business, no matter how many people greeted him and no matter where he went, his hand never let go of the wheelchair.
At eight o’clock sharp, the two stars of the engagent party finally appeared.
Felix Shaw was dressed in a dark purple suit, stylish and ticulous, and his fiancée, Mia Foster, in a bright red tight fitting gown, hooking her arm in his, her lips maintaining a generous and proper curve.
Felix Shaw, with a taut face, looked as if soone had offended him.
The couple, led by their parents, were weaving through the crowd and greeting the top figures from T city’s business world, offering toasts.
