It’s almost ti for work, and there’s no ti to discuss the matter about Little Nou in detail. Before stepping out of the apartnt, Titus Zane reminded Jon to make sure to leave after getting enough sleep, otherwise he wouldn’t know how to explain their relationship if Wesley Foley ca across them.
Jon readily agreed, and after Titus Zane left, he dove back into bed, hugging the pillow that Titus Zane had used, his lips curling into a satisfied smile.
On the way to work, Titus Zane suddenly felt that being with Jon was much more relaxed; at least he understood his own industry, so she didn’t have to pretend or hide herself in front of him.
Then he thought of Nathan Moore, whom he hadn’t contacted since their encounter that night.
He took out his phone from his bag, thought for a mont, and dialed Beatrice Hargrave’s number.
The ringing continued for a long ti, and just as it was about to hang up automatically, the call was finally answered.
The voice was thick with sleepiness, "Hello, who is this?"
It was evident that Beatrice Hargrave hadn’t fully woken up, so she probably didn’t check the caller ID.
"Milly, it’s ." Titus curved his lips, if it weren’t for inquiring about Nathan Moore, he wouldn’t have continued to bother.
"Oh, Sister Zane..."
Beatrice’s voice sounded less cheerful than before, sowhat listless, which made Titus a bit worried. Out of concern, he politely asked, "Milly, what happened? You sound unhappy?"
Glaring at the person lying next to her, Beatrice looked aggrieved.
"Nothing, just dread last night about being chased by a male dog all night long, ran the whole night, feels a bit tired."
It wasn’t a dream about being chased by dogs, it was clearly being oppressed all night by the beastly Uncle Croft.
As Titus didn’t know how to respond, a sudden shout of "ah..." ca through the phone.
"Milly?" Titus grew anxious, "What happened? Are you really alright?"
"Oh, no, it’s nothing."
Glaring at the malicious man, Beatrice protected her chest with one hand and shifted to the side to sit up, and as she did, the blanket slid down, leaving her bare upper body completely exposed to the air.
Beneath the neck, covered by clothing, was a patchwork of intense colors, making it evident that the night’s struggle was fierce.
"There’s a mosquito in the house, just got bitten a mont ago."
Titus...
Are there mosquitoes in this season? He subconsciously looked around in the taxi.
Worried about being harassed by the wolf in human cloth again, Beatrice quickly got to the point.
"Sister Zane, what’s up?"
"Oh," Titus gathered his doubts and hesitated before speaking, "have you... seen Nathan Moore recently?"
Beatrice glanced subconsciously towards the man sprawled on the bed, caressing her leg, drawn out her tone and repeated, "Oh, you an Uncle Moore..." then covered the receiver and whispered, "What has Uncle Moore been up to these days?"
Nicholas Croft glanced at her, his long arm tossed, and the phone in Beatrice’s hand landed in his. He flipped over, lying flat on the bed and pressing the phone to his ear, "If you want to know about Nathan, call him yourself."
After speaking, he hung up the call, and with a flick of his arm, the phone flew away.
Everything happened so quickly, by the ti Beatrice realized, she was grabbing Nicholas Croft’s arm, shaking it unhappily, "Uncle Croft! How could you do that? I was talking to a friend, how could you snatch my phone!"
Nicholas Croft hooked up the corner of his lips into a sly smile, "I want to snatch not just your phone but also claim you."
Saying so, he pounced on Beatrice like a predator, pinning her beneath him, his handso face pressing down remorselessly.
"Mmm... don’t... Uncle Croft... I’m discussing sothing serious with you..."
"This is the serious matter!" Beatrice’s complaint was dominantly sealed by Nicholas Croft.
