She is not lustful, not desperate for a man, but she is not very old yet and has more than half of her life ahead; she doesn’t want to end up lonely.
She just wishes, after retreating from society, to find soone she can talk to, soone who can provide fulfilling companionship on a spiritual level.
Now, it seems that even this simple request is hard to fulfill.
Titus Zane has locked himself in a world of self-induced panic, unresponsive to the overt and covert struggle between the two n.
However, her non-resistance, in Nathan Moore’s eyes, seed like a tacit approval, an agreent with Wesley Foley, united against him.
His eyes grew colder, he extended his arm, grabbed Titus Zane’s wrist, and forcefully pulled her away from Wesley’s restraint.
In a daze, Titus Zane staggered forward and bumped into Nathan Moore’s chest, looking up to et his teasing handso face.
"Sister, don’t you think my words make a lot of sense?"
Nathan Moore deliberately emphasized the word "sister," but Titus Zane could read a grudging tone in his words.
She blinked, still in shock.
What did he... just say? She hadn’t paid attention, so she didn’t know how to respond, bewildered, just as she saw the man holding her wrist suddenly smile with doting affection in his dark eyes.
"Slipping away when it’s ti to talk business, let’s see how you’ll be punished back ho!"
Nathan Moore’s words were also subtly phrased; as family, his words were not to be criticized, but if one were to deliberate further, they could lead to wild conjectures.
Wesley Foley’s hand, hanging in the air, clenched tighter, his fair handso face turning cloudy.
Is this man, now openly trying to compete with him?
Not even taking into account his identity as a brother-in-law?
Such a sanctimonious beast in gentleman’s clothing!
Titus Zane quickly reacted, stepping back to keep a safe distance from Nathan Moore, retrieved her wrist, turned around, and with a slight smile towards the brooding Wesley, said:
"Director Foley, didn’t you co to invite to lunch? Let’s hurry, or else Secretary Zhang will have reasons to complain about us being late in the afternoon."
That Secretary Zhang disapproved of Titus Zane was no secret.
Before Titus Zane worked as an assistant, preparing tea and coffee was usually the secretary’s job, but since Titus Zane’s arrival, her role had beco much like that of a doorman at the entrance of a residential complex.
Hence, she held opinions about Titus Zane.
Before Wesley could respond, Titus Zane had already walked over to the coat rack, took down her jacket, draped it over her arm, and then grabbed Wesley’s wrist, heading towards the office door together.
"Let’s go, I’m quite hungry, but rember, you’re treating this al."
Thinking of another presence behind him, Wesley turned his passivity into initiative, holding Titus Zane’s hand in his arm, his gaze down, lips slightly raised, "Sure, my treat."
Three words, gentle and indulgent.
In the office, Nathan Moore was still sitting on Titus Zane’s desk, grabbed the blue folder on it, and slamd it back down.

Getting up, Nathan Moore strode out to follow them.
His woman, how could he be at ease letting her be alone with a sanctimonious hypocrite?
What if she is taken advantage of?
The one to suffer would still be him.
Ultimately, the three of them sat down together for lunch.
In the Japanese restaurant, at the small square table in a private room, each of them held their own thoughts.
The two n sitting opposite each other, both harboring their own thoughts, saw the other as sanctimonious, each no better than the other.
