After giving Auntie Liu her instructions, Little Zhen turned back, bringing the fruit from the coffee table over to the two n with a smile and asked, "Gentlen, who is your senior commander?"
Even though they were sitting on the sofa, both Little Li and his comrade maintained a rigid posture, their hands flat on their knees as they regarded Auntie Liu with stern faces devoid of any superfluous expression.
"The senior commander is just the senior commander."
The smile on Auntie Liu’s face stiffened, and she stood up straight, then smiled again saying, "Please, take a seat gentlen, I’ll go and pour you a glass of water."
"No need to be polite," replied Little Li seriously, while Auntie Liu still chuckled, "It’s no trouble at all, please, have a seat."
anwhile, she backed towards the kitchen, opened the door and hurried inside before shutting it firmly. She quickly pulled out her cell phone from her apron pocket and frantically dialed her master’s number.
Clutching the phone to her ear and covering her mouth with one hand, she crouched and whispered her report.
"Sir, there’s trouble, two n ca to the house saying the old commander has ordered them to bring Young Miss back... Who is Young Miss? They ntioned Madam’s na... Mhm, I’ll try to stall them, please hurry back."
After hanging up, Auntie Liu cald her rapidly pounding heart, the shock being too much for her advanced years.
She couldn’t be sure what those two n’s intentions were, but their imposing deanor was quite frightening.
After composing herself, Auntie Liu put away her phone, took two glasses of plain water and walked out to the living room to place them on the coffee table, "Gentlen, please have so water."
"Thank you, but we don’t need it," responded Little Li and the other man in unison, identical in tone and expression.
Titus Zane had already co downstairs from the staircase, and was about to ask Auntie Liu who was looking for her, but she paused upon seeing Little Li’s face, sensing a familiarity that slowed her steps.
Seeing Titus appear at the top of the stairs, Little Li discreetly nudged his companion and quickly stood up, respectfully addressing her, "Young Miss."
Titus suddenly rembered; this man was the driver who had taken Abigail Zimrman shopping when she and Jon had visited the compound last ti. His na seed to be...
"Little Li?" Before she reached the bottom of the stairs, Titus tentatively asked, and Little Li finally revealed a slight smile. A serious man, he seed shy when he smiled, "Thank you, Young Miss, for rembering ."
"If anyone should be giving thanks, it’s thanking you for helping out my friend and last ti."
Within a few steps, Titus was in front of Little Li, who sheepishly scratched his head,
"Young Miss teases, I was rely following Madam’s instructions."
"And this is..." Titus looked at the man standing alongside Little Li, both dressed in identical uniforms, their expressions similarly stern.
Before Little Li could speak, the other man took the initiative to introduce himself.
"Young Miss, I’m Little Zhang, and I will be your dedicated driver from now on."
Little Zhang spoke loudly and suddenly, startling Titus, who laughed and said, "Please take a seat. I don’t know..."
"Young Miss, the senior commander has instructed us to co and pick you up; ti is of the essence, so please go ahead and change your clothes first," Little Li interrupted before Titus could finish her sentence, suggesting as he glanced at her work apron stained with paint.
"Pick up?" Titus was confused, "I’m quite comfortable here..."
"Young Miss, the senior commander has issued a strict order; please do not make things difficult for us," Little Li interrupted again, this ti with an air of strictly conducting official business.
Rembering the kind yet authoritative old man, Titus hesitated for a mont before outright refusing.
"Little Li, I cannot go back with you, please tell my grandfather that I am doing very well here."
