Now reading: Chapter 55. A girl always talks nonsense when she is drunk from Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride, a Romance novel by Elephant cross river.

"Ah..." With a gasp, Titus Zane quickly leaped out of the bed.

Shivering, he hugged his shoulders, trembling uncontrollably.

Most of his body was already drenched, and drops of water were dripping from the bed onto the floor, making a ticking sound.

It felt as if sothing obscured his vision.

Titus Zane lifted his head and then saw the gloomy-faced man standing over him, looking down.

His mind sowhat foggy, Titus Zane couldn’t recall how he had provoked him again.

After being thrown onto the bed by Nathan Moore, he had fallen into a deep, fitful sleep, without covering himself with a blanket. It was spring and already quite cold; now, doused in an entire basin of cold water, he felt utterly chilled to the core.

Looking at the somber-faced man in front of the bed, Titus Zane’s pupils were cloudy with the mist of alcohol, and he couldn’t help shivering again as his teeth clattered together.

"Miss, it’s ti to get up for dinner," Chun Ya reminded him, mindful of her purpose in waking Titus Zane.

As his gaze shifted to the empty basin in Chun Ya’s hands, Titus Zane’s expression beca a bit vacant. His arms that hugged each other slowly slid down to tightly embrace his legs, his chin resting on his knees, he murmured softly.

"I’m not hungry,"

"Dear..."

"Even if you’re not hungry, you must co down!" Chun Ya hadn’t finished her sentence when she was interrupted by Nathan Moore, his voice cold, commanding, and absolutely brookless.

Titus Zane didn’t move, still hugging his legs, sitting in front of the bed and shivering.

Chun Ya glanced at the chillingly austere man beside her, then turned back to Titus Zane on the bed, sowhat helplessly persuading.

"Miss, please don’t be stubborn. The master and madam have been waiting for you to co down for dinner for a while now."

"I know," Titus Zane still held his legs, his gaze falling on the bed, his expression numb.

"You go out first. I’ll follow once I’ve changed my clothes."

Nathan Moore gave her a cold glance and strode out of the room.

Seeing Titus Zane whose upper body was still soaked, Chun Ya hesitated to speak and also turned to leave.

"Nathan, did she wake up?" Olivia Zane asked with "concern" as she saw the man return to the dining table.

"Hmm." With a single-syllable grunt, Nathan Moore sat in his seat, picking up his utensils to start his dinner.

"What happened?" Observing Nathan Moore’s displeased expression, Olivia Zane curiously looked towards Chun Ya.

"Did she make Nathan angry again?"

Chun Ya displayed a troubled expression, unsure how to answer madam’s question.

It was, after all, the master who had awakened the miss with cold water, yet why did it seem like he was the one who got very angry.

"Eat your al." These cold words spilled from Nathan Moore’s thin lips, devoid of emotion or warmth, his head didn’t even lift, but the command was unmistakable.

"Oh," Olivia Zane secretly pursed her lips but obediently picked up her chopsticks.

Ten minutes later, Titus Zane went downstairs, freshly bathed, wrapped in a bathrobe.

Her long hair, draped over her shoulders, still dripping with water, too rushed to dry it properly.

"Sis, why did you just wake up? Dinner has been ready for a while now, look, it’s all turned cold."

Olivia Zane held her bowl toward Titus Zane, complaining discontentedly.

"Sorry."

Titus Zane sat in her seat, expression cold.

"Sis, try to drink less next ti. It’s not proper for a girl to always be drunk."

Titus Zane had just picked up her utensils when Olivia Zane’s voice ca from across.

Olivia Zane used the word "always," clearly hinting that Titus Zane often got drunk.

Yet, actually, this was the first ti Titus Zane had ever been drunk.

Although she did drink a little red wine every night before bed, she had never been as intoxicated as today.

Titus Zane looked across, Olivia Zane was placing a piece of fish onto a bone plate, looking slightly discontented.

Lowering her gaze, Titus Zane said lightly.

"Understood."

She didn’t want to argue with her sister, rely aiming to spare herself more hurt.
