She got out of bed and washed her face with cold water. Staring at her slightly flushed cheeks in the mirror, Titus Zane bit her lip again.
In the past, she devoted herself to her career, spending most of her ti secluded in her studio painting, truly like a fairy isolated from the world.
Only after getting together with Nathan Moore did she realize that there were so many pleasures in life she had yet to experience.
She splashed her face with cold water again, and after drying off with a towel, she stepped out of the bathroom.
The cellphone placed in front of her bed started ringing again. Thinking it was Nathan calling, Olivia Zane hurried over.
She hesitated for a long ti after picking up the phone and seeing the caller ID, but eventually took a deep breath and answered.
She started speaking in a formulaic tone, devoid of any emotion,
"Director Foley, do you need sothing from ?"
"Carry, oh no, Olivia Zane, do you have ti to co out for a coffee together?"
On the phone, Wesley Foley invited her with his usual warm tone, not showing any awkwardness or embarrassnt despite his deception.
Olivia Zane simply stared ahead expressionlessly.
"I’m sorry, it’s already late,"
"I’ll co pick you up."
A trace of mockery tugged at the corner of her lips as Titus Zane’s tone softened, "Director Foley, I think... there’s no need for us to keep in touch."
For soone who had deceived her, she did not want any more contact.
After saying this, Olivia Zane was about to hang up when Wesley Foley’s anxious voice ca through the earpiece.
"Olivia Zane, please don’t hang up. There’s sothing... I need to explain."
"Director Foley, I don’t think that’s necessary. From now on, we’ll go our separate ways and we won’t have any contact. Moreover, there’s no misunderstanding between us..." Olivia Zane coldly refused, but Wesley Foley was persistent.
"Olivia Zane, please give a chance, a chance to explain to you. So things... aren’t as simple as they appear on the surface. And..." Wesley Foley hesitated, but still expressed his concern, "If I don’t make it clear, I’m worried it might affect my collaboration with Mr. Zane."
With a scoff, Olivia Zane let out a derisive laugh, realizing she should have known that if it weren’t for the identity of her aunt and uncle, Wesley Foley would not have contacted her again.
After the laughter, Titus Zane’s attitude turned even colder, "Director Foley, I think you’re overthinking it. It was an honor to enter your company and work as your assistant, so... there’s no misunderstanding between us, and I’m not soone who likes to stir up trouble."
"Olivia Zane, I want to say... there were tis... that I was truly moved, being a man... no man is immune to beautiful won... I was really jealous when I saw your marriage certificate with Director Moore... In fact, I selfishly thought about taking you under my wing, to live with and my daughter..."
Olivia Zane didn’t know if all n had such low instincts, or if she just happened to encounter the odd ones.
It was the sa with Nathan before, keeping Olivia Zane in a platonic relationship while also confining her to his side, and now Wesley Foley harbored the sa intentions, unwilling to let go of his wife yet wanting to live with her...
With a laugh, Titus Zane spoke up, "Director Foley, do I naturally have a face that invites infidelity?"
n only think about supporting her but never really want to live a life with her.
In response to Olivia Zane’s mockery, Wesley Foley did not reply but instead got straight to the point, "I know the purpose of you coming to my company."
Olivia Zane froze, and the mockery on her face also disappeared, "What did you say?"
