The atmosphere once again sank into gloom, and the few people in the living room followed suit with silence.
Titus Zane cried sorrowfully and was persuaded by Abigail Zimrman to return to her room, with Nathan Moore accompanying her, wrapping his arms around her as they ascended the stairs.
Watching the two figures disappear around the corner, Alder Locke stood up and sat on the sofa opposite Samuel Zane, casually flipping through a small notebook he had grabbed.
"Grandfather Zane, what should we do now?"
Samuel Zane raised his eyes and glared over, retorting, "What to do? Hmm, do you think a few words can erase the harm he previously caused my grandson? All of this ultimately stems from him. If it wasn’t for him keeping my grandson restrained by his side, none of this would have happened!"
Hearing Samuel Zane say this, Alder Locke muttered to himself, "Grandfather Zane is astute," then snapped the notebook shut and tossed it onto the coffee table, "Who was so foolish to arrange this? It couldn’t be so fake bought online to deceive people, could it?"
As a politician, one could tell at a glance whether the marriage certificate was real or fake. His words were just an excuse to justify his desire to take another man’s woman.
Samuel Zane also glanced at the marriage certificate, "This is a problem." The two were already married; marrying his grandson to Alder Locke would be committing bigamy.
Alder Locke, however, glanced at the marriage certificate again and then leaned back lazily into the sofa, "Grandfather Zane needn’t worry; a single phone call can sort this out."
A cryptic statent, but both n understood.
In the room, Nathan Moore leaned on Titus Zane’s bed, legs crossed over the bed’s edge, while Titus Zane, resting on his legs, was still sobbing, "Nathan Moore, will grandfather agree to let you take back with you?"
Nathan Moore gently stroked her long hair, his gaze distant, "I don’t know."
He had a bad feeling, knowing that since the old man allowed another man to move into his ho, he was probably determined to break them apart.
"What if grandfather doesn’t agree?" Titus Zane turned her head, looking at Nathan Moore with swollen, tearful eyes.
"My dear, don’t worry, I’ll figure sothing out." Nathan Moore forced a smile, and Titus Zane pouted, looking aggrieved.
"Nathan Moore, I want to elope with you, but I’m worried grandfather will suppress your company."
Titus Zane’s words didn’t worry Nathan Moore; instead, he laughed, "What nonsense, we are legally married, there’s no question of elopent."
"What if I return secretly, aren’t you worried grandfather will ruin your company?"
A large palm rested on the side of Titus Zane’s face, Nathan Moore’s gaze remained unperturbed.
"Not worried, grandfather may have imnse power, but we are now in an open society. Any unreasonable actions, as long as they are made public, public opinion will help you reclaim justice."
Listening to Nathan Moore’s rational analysis, Titus Zane suddenly realized she was very easily deceived, "Nathan Moore, am I foolish to believe grandfather’s threat as real?"
"Fool, I love your simplicity."
Nathan Moore sighed, simultaneously lowering his handso face and lightly kissing Titus Zane’s forehead.
He used to prefer smart girls, lively and clever like Olivia Zane, gentle and astute, but since that incident, Nathan Moore felt that a simpler woman was more comfortable to be with.
Just like the woman in front of him, who openly shows her affection and discontent, never disguises her emotions, and does not plot behind others’ backs.
"But, I think I’m very foolish, always being manipulated by those closest to ..." Titus Zane raised her arm, encircled Nathan Moore’s neck, forcing his handso face to remain close.
