In the room.
Caspian Warner leaned back in a separate armchair, switching the TV to a sports channel, put down the remote, opened a bottle of beer, and drank while watching a basketball ga.
For soone who often skirted the edge of death, a minor kidnapping case was hardly a concern.
After observing for several days, he was aware that Titus Zane’s identity was not a simple one; her comings and goings were accompanied by a chauffeured car and bodyguards, suggesting that taking her out would present so difficulties.
But difficulties made for a challenge, and without them, there would be no thrill.
For now, he would have to stay in this small hotel for another two days, waiting for the new docunts to arrive, before leaving with her.
Caspian Warner was imrsed in the basketball ga from his seat; anwhile, on the small bed, the woman sleeping twisted her brow and slowly began to wake with a moan.
Her head felt unbearably heavy, as did her limbs, heavy as if she were seriously ill, making even the act of sitting up and leaning on the edge of the bed a struggle.
Titus Zane slowly opened her eyes to an unfamiliar environnt. As her gaze shifted, the tall figure drinking beer in the armchair ca into her view.
Monts of a mory surfaced abruptly in her mind, and Titus Zane beca alert.
"Who are you? Why have you kidnapped ?"
Caspian Warner turned his head around, his gaze calm with no sign of panic.
"Awake?"
Propping herself up, Titus Zane struggled to sit up in front of the bed, "You are..." She seed to have seen this man before, but just couldn’t rember.
"Caspian Warner, Flower’s bodyguard," Caspian unruffled introduced himself, then turned back, took a sip of beer, and continued watching the basketball ga.
Titus Zane then rembered; upon just entering the Jiang family’s territory, she had encountered Caspian Warner, who had likely just returned from a mission, holding a disheveled woman in his grip...
"Why have you kidnapped ?" Titus Zane asked guardedly, a bad premonition rising in her heart. It must be connected to Flower; otherwise, Caspian Warner wouldn’t have co to the country.
Caspian Warner took another sip of beer, his eyes still fixed on the TV, showing no concern that Titus Zane might try to escape, "I only obey Flower’s commands. She told to bring you back to headquarters."
Caspian Warner openly admitted that it was Flower’s order to kidnap her, but Titus Zane couldn’t understand, "Why would Flower want you to take back? Didn’t she agree to let leave..."
Caspian Warner casually glanced back, "I’m only responsible for executing orders."
After saying that, he turned back to continue drinking his beer and watching the TV.
Behind him, Titus Zane cautiously moved her limbs, which were a bit heavy but still mobile. Watching Caspian Warner intently viewing the basketball ga, she quietly and cautiously tried to slide down from the bed.
Before her foot could touch the ground, Caspian Warner’s voice floated over, as he tilted his head back to gulp down the last bit of his beer, his tone calm, "Don’t even think about running away. No one has ever escaped from my grasp."
Her body trembling, Titus Zane’s foot jerked back onto the bed, her hands bracing against the edge as she slowly moved back up onto the bed.
Caspian Warner grabbed another bottle of beer, "If you don’t want to tie you up, stay put. Flower has instructed that I just need to bring you back to headquarters alive."
The words from Caspian Warner startled Titus Zane, and also left her feeling cold. Despite all she had done for the headquarters, Flower actually...
Suddenly finding the strength, Titus Zane leapt off the bed, attempting to sprint toward the room’s door, but Caspian Warner quickly stood up, and with a light grab, Titus Zane’s escape was thwarted.
Seized by the shoulders by Caspian Warner like an eagle firmly clutching a chick, a re flick from Caspian Warner sent Titus Zane spinning through the air, landing back onto the bed.
