Felix Shaw didn’t realize that the engagent was unilaterally proposed by the Shaw Family; in fact, the Foster Family didn’t agree at all, thinking the couple hadn’t been in contact for long enough. It was only because Mia Foster herself nodded in agreent, and her parents, out of compassion for their daughter, reluctantly agreed.
Mia Foster had her own thoughts about agreeing to the engagent with Felix Shaw. Once engaged, it was as if she was announcing to the whole world that Felix Shaw was her man. From then on, she would eliminate any woman who had their eye on Felix, as well as any woman whom Felix paid attention to – she would clear all those unwanted romantics from his life, leaving only herself as the one for him, and she didn’t believe that, within the span of a year, Felix wouldn’t see her value!
As it turned out, sotis a woman’s overconfidence and dominance can cause a man to beco rebellious.
Originally, Felix had a reasonable impression of Mia Foster, but since her "coerced marriage," Mia’s image in Felix’s heart was no different from those scheming won out there.
The engagent party was held at the Yellow Banner Hotel, with the strength of both families gathering the entire upper echelon of T city.
Almost all the invited guests had arrived, but Felix was still sitting in the dressing room, refusing to go out.
Mia Foster ca to the door of the changing room, knocked gently, and then pushed the door open, "Aren’t you done changing yet?"
Felix Shaw leaned back in his chair, smoking leisurely as he looked at her, "Nervous."
His words drew a laugh from Mia Foster, who shut the door of the dressing room behind her and walked in, saying humorously, "It’s just a formality, what’s there to be nervous about?"
"Just a formality?" Felix stopped smoking and frowned at Mia Foster.
Mia also pulled up a chair and sat down, seemingly noticing Felix’s hesitation; with a smirk, she asked, "Having regrets?"
"No," said Felix, with a laugh, finding his core thoughts exposed, "It`s just that things are moving too fast, and it feels sowhat overwhelming."
"Yeah, it is quite fast." Mia Foster agreed, "I didn’t expect it either."
After saying that, she stood up, ca over to Felix, and patted his shoulder, "Co on, let go of your worries, the guests are still waiting outside."
"Can I back out?" Felix Shaw looked up at her and asked half-seriously, half-jokingly.
Looking down at him, Mia Foster’s eyebrows lifted slightly, "Too late!"
eting the obvious reluctance in Felix’s eyes, Mia Foster said, "Although I, Mia Foster, am not the type to pester relentlessly, I won’t easily back down once I’m serious. You were the one who initiated acknowledging as your official girlfriend, and you also promised a year’s ti. What is this now? With relatives and friends waiting outside, do you want to back out at the last minute?"
"No, I... just feel nervous." Mia Foster clearly had a smile, but Felix inexplicably felt guilty and ca up with this far-fetched excuse with a smile. Yet Mia didn’t give him a chance to retract, she intertwined her arm with his, took the half-smoked cigarette from his hand and pressed it into the ashtray, forcefully pulling him up, "Co on, don’t keep the guests waiting."
Filled with reluctance, Felix Shaw had no choice but to leave the dressing room with Mia Foster, because he knew clearly that such matters did not tolerate regret, and with the entire upper class of T city waiting outside, for both families’ sake, he had to grit his teeth and go through with the proceedings.
As they exited the dressing room, Felix suddenly said with a teasing tone, "Hey, why do I feel like you’re pushing into marriage?"
"Really?" Mia Foster turned and looked over, her eyes lined with kohl looking more captivating, "Do you think I’m not good enough for you?"
"Heh, no, not at all," Felix laughed it off, feeling oddly intimidated when he t Mia Foster’s gaze.
