Feeling injustice for Felix Shaw and his son, Mia Foster tossed the steel spoon more heavily than she intended. The tal spoon landed on the plate with a loud clink. Watching the tall figure quickly moving towards the restaurant door, Oliver Shaw tightened his gaze and did not shift his eyes away for a long ti.
A familiar person can be recognized just by their back, let alone one’s future daughter-in-law.
"Oliver, what’s wrong?" Vanessa Armstrong also looked towards the restaurant entrance. Apart from the custors coming and going, she noticed nothing unusual. Oliver Shaw looked back and smiled, saying, "It’s nothing."
"Did you see soone you know?" Vanessa Armstrong glanced at the restaurant door again. After many years together, she knew Oliver Shaw’s personality well.
"It’s nothing, perhaps I mistook soone." Oliver Shaw smiled again, then walked over to the counter, "Seraphina, are the chicken cutlets not ready yet?"
"Daddy, almost there!" Seraphina crisply responded. The seven-year-old girl, wearing British leather shoes and khaki casual pants, her branded coat and holding the latest 8plus model phone, clearly showed she was doted on by her parents.
Oliver Shaw responded and found a nearby seat to sit down while Vanessa Armstrong still stood behind her daughter, focusing on the restaurant door, her eyes slightly squinting, but her lips were coldly curled up.
If she hadn’t seen wrong, that back figure just now must have been the woman who spied on them on the escalator. She didn’t know who that woman was, but she was sure that the woman had a close relationship with Oliver Shaw.
If she were insignificant, Oliver Shaw’s expression wouldn’t have looked so tense.
Turning her gaze back, Vanessa Armstrong smiled and asked her daughter, "Seraphina, what else do you want to eat? Let Daddy take you to buy it."
"But the chicken cutlets are not ready yet,"
Seraphina turned her head back, "It’s okay, Mommy will wait here."
"Okay," Seraphina agreed, bouncing up to Oliver Shaw and took his hand proactively, "Daddy, let’s go buy so other delicious food."
"Alright." Looking at his adorable and obedient daughter, Oliver Shaw’s facial expression softened. He stood up and allowed his daughter to lead him to another stall.
Watching the father and daughter’s backs, Vanessa Armstrong’s raised eyebrows lifted even higher. Oliver Shaw worried about being seen by acquaintances, but she was not afraid; the more family and friends see them, the better, especially if it reached that old witch’s ears. If she made a scene, it could turn into an opportunity for her to be legitimized.
Assigned by Oliver Shaw to a nearby city, where she only spends a few days each month, although they never lacked money, living in an apartnt wasn’t as comfortable as living in a villa served by a bunch of maids.
Today being her daughter’s birthday, she purposely brought her to T city. If not for her daughter’s personal phone call, he would have surely blad her again.
Having been with Oliver Shaw since she was twenty-one, and now over a decade later, at thirty-five years, nearing forty, every Chinese New Year, as relatives gathered as families of three, only she and her daughter stayed ho alone,
Seeing other children go to amusent parks with their parents, her daughter always enviously asked her, "Mommy, why is Daddy so busy, only coming ho once every few months... I don’t want brand nas or toys, I want Daddy to be at ho with ..."
Every ti she saw her daughter’s disheartened expression, Vanessa Armstrong swore inwardly that one day, she would openly walk together with Oliver Shaw, with her daughter by their side, no longer having to worry about being seen.
