lody Zachary looked up in a daze at her son across from her, and the chopsticks in her hand fell onto the dining table.
"Felix, did you see that woman? Is your dad with her?"
"Mom, no, I was just assuming," Felix Shaw said with slight helplessness, not expecting his mother to be so anxious. It was already difficult for him knowing his father had a woman outside, let alone his mother, who had spent half her life with his father.
"No, you must have seen her, you are my son, I know!" lody shook her head in disbelief, then stood up to grab her son’s hand and asked nervously, "Felix, tell mom, have you seen that woman? What did your dad say? Does he want to divorce and be with that woman?"
"Mom, there’s no such thing." Felix put down the chopsticks in his hand and gently held his mother’s hand, soothing her with a good temper, "I’m just assuming, I really didn’t see, besides, dad is at such an age, how could he still be looking for a woman."
lody still stood, staring closely at her son’s face, trying to discern sothing from it. Felix looked helpless, with no unusual color on his handso face.
Seeing nothing unusual, lody sat back down, pulled out her hand from her son’s grasp, lowered her gaze, and murmured to herself, "Even if your dad has a woman outside, I won’t divorce him. After all these years, even if I haven’t accomplished much, I’ve endured a lot; why should I give the ho I’ve worked so hard for to her!"
As she spoke, tears fell from her eyes, "This is my ho; why should I give it to them! I won’t divorce, I’d rather die than divorce, I don’t believe your dad would really bring that woman ho..."
Facing his mother’s complaints and tears, Felix also felt powerless. His father was determined not to break up with that woman, and his mother was so persistent, reluctant to divorce even if it ant holding onto a man who didn’t love her.
He was a man, and he didn’t want his own family to beco twisted like those he despised the most, where the mother tirelessly worked at ho while the father enjoyed himself outside with another woman...
Thinking of how others looked at him, Felix felt he couldn’t hold his head up high.
After comforting his mother for a while, saying words of consolation that even he found sarcastic.

With the situation at ho unresolved, Felix had no mind to deal with anything else, especially since the ti the exposer ntioned happened to be the night he was with Elizabeth in Capital City. He knew she was with him then, so he casually dismissed it and instructed Elizabeth to clarify quickly, not giving it much thought.
On the other side, as soon as Elizabeth hung up the phone, Sister Lisa hurriedly asked, "Is everything settled with Director Shaw? There won’t be any issues with the investnt?"
"Sister Lisa, don’t worry. As long as I step in, Felix won’t believe those nonsense rumors."
