At the Elite Social Club, several n sat in a private room, not playing cards as usual, but each with a glass of red wine in front of them.
"Felix, what are you planning to do?" Nicholas Croft asked. Felix Shaw had been sitting on the sofa, smoking a cigarette, his peach blossom eyes slightly squinted as he stared at so spot, the ashtray in front of him piled into a little mountain.
"No particular plans," Felix Shaw returned to reality, shifting his sitting position as he spoke, "If he doesn’t agree to my terms, I won’t consent to my mom divorcing him."
Evander Lancaster sat next to him, his eyes cast down, gaze on the swirling red wine in his hand, and said leisurely, "It is apparent, uncle has made up his mind."
Felix Shaw had visited the hospital ward a few tis yesterday, and Evander Lancaster had accompanied him on several occasions; he could see Oliver Shaw’s affection for the mother and daughter.
Nathan Moore sat in a corner, one arm crossed in front of his chest, the other holding a glass of wine, his thoughts unreadable, silent about Felix Shaw’s family affairs.
Nicholas Croft glanced over, a soundless sigh escaping him. Ever since Titus Zane had left, he had been this reticent.
Turning away, Nicholas Croft idly toyed with the wine glass in front of him, "What if uncle refuses?"
Felix Shaw, about to take a sip of wine, paused, his movent stiffened as he snorted, "If he doesn’t agree, I will call for a shareholders’ eting tomorrow, expose his doings, and join forces with the shareholders to impeach him."
Evander Lancaster, not well-versed in business, therefore did not join the conversation. Nicholas Croft and Nathan Moore, having their own companies, were well aware of the conflicts of interest between shareholders.
Having kept silent, Nathan Moore finally spoke, still looking ahead with an indifferent expression, "Felix, rember, the company was built by uncle, and those veteran shareholders might not necessarily side with you."
"Then what should I do? Just watch him pay off my mom with a sum of money?" Felix Shaw abruptly turned his head, his peach blossom eyes clearly agitated.
Nathan Moore slowly sipped his wine, speaking at a relaxed pace, "There are many ways to handle things, if your thod doesn’t work, you need to think of a better one. To push soone out, you don’t necessarily need a confrontation, you could quietly accumulate chips in the secondary market, and when you hold more shares than uncle, he will naturally step down."
"But doesn’t he still hold a share of the company’s stocks in his hands?" Felix Shaw rebutted, unconvinced, pressing his father to transfer shares to his mother – it was all to prevent that mother and daughter from inheriting.
"Felix, sotis you don’t have to be utterly ruthless for a killing move, gradual corrosion might achieve a better effect."
"Like how you dealt with Titus Zane? Not ruthlessly driving her away but keeping her by your side to torture little by little?" As soon as Nathan Moore finished speaking, Felix Shaw retorted bluntly, his words filled with undisguised sarcasm, his anger rendering his speech disproportionate.
Nathan Moore suddenly turned to look at him, the coldness in his obsidian eyes beco apparent, his fingers tightening unconsciously on the stem of his glass, then chewing his back teeth, he suddenly stood up amidst the tense atmosphere of Nicholas Croft and Evander Lancaster, "Just rembered, there’s so work I haven’t dealt with." After speaking, he placed the wine glass on the coffee table and strode out of the private room.
"Younger brother, that was too much," Nicholas Croft patted Felix Shaw’s shoulder to remind him after Nathan Moore had left.
Although Nathan Moore had kept Titus Zane confined by his side, the brothers could all see his feelings for her.
"Third brother, second brother ans well. I may not understand business matters, but second brother has managed companies for many years, and his experience must be quite extensive," Felix Shaw glanced at Evander Lancaster coldly before dropping his gaze and continuing to smoke.
