"Mia, there’s fruit in the fridge, can you get it for and make so juice to cool down?" lody Zachary’s voice ca from the kitchen. Before Mia Foster could speak, the man holding her from behind had already replied for her. He turned his head toward the kitchen and shouted, "Mom, got it. Mia will get it for you right away."
After saying that, the man turned back and said, "Mia, mom asked you to get the fruit for her."
Taking a deep breath, Mia Foster slipped off her high heels and said softly while stepping out of them, "Let go."
Reluctantly, Felix Shaw had no choice but to release his hold, his hands in his pockets as he stood at the entrance hall, watching Mia step out of her shoes and turn back around.
Mia took grapes and peaches from the fridge to the kitchen, where lody was washing them and said, "Mia, I’ve spoiled Felix since he was a child, I didn’t educate him well. From now on, I promise to discipline him strictly. Please look past this for my sake and give him another chance, okay..."
Mia curled her lips but remained silent.
After dinner, unlike before, lody didn’t keep Mia to watch TV with her but kept urging the couple to go back to their room to rest.
It was sumr and hot, so Felix took his own shirt and pants for Mia to take a shower in the bathroom.
After showering and putting on Felix’s clothes, Mia felt no excitent or impulse; instead, she felt an inexplicable sadness.
It is said that when you fall in love with soone who also loves you, it’s the happiest thing in the world. But with her and Felix, despite how proactive she had been, he remained indifferent until the mont she turned away, when he finally declared his love.
Reining in her emotions, Mia walked out of the bathroom. Felix had been sitting on the couch with his mother but then went into the bathroom to shower after seeing Mia co out.
Smiling at lody, Mia had just sat down on the couch when lody urged her again, "Mia, go back to the bedroom and rest. It’s getting late, and you have work tomorrow. Don’t stay up too late; it’s bad for your health,"
"Okay, I’ll rest now. You should also go to bed early," said Mia as she got up, feeling awkward alone with lody under the current circumstances.
Entering the bedroom, everything remained as she had left it: the bright red curtains, the bright red bed sheets. But her feelings had changed, no longer possessing the initial thrill and passion.
Felix said he would sleep on the couch, so Mia lifted the blanket and lay down on the bed. Suddenly rembering she hadn’t called ho, she got up again to get her phone.
"Mia, why did you co out again? Please go rest, you don’t need to stay up with ," lody quickly said when she saw Mia, clearly intending to give her son and daughter-in-law so privacy.
"Oh, I just need to call ho," Mia replied.
Mia walked toward the coat rack where her bag was hanging, and lody nodded in agreent, "Oh yes, you should call your in-laws, otherwise they’ll worry."
Just as Mia took out her phone from the bag, Felix had co out from the bathroom, "There’s no need, I’ve already called mom and dad."
"You called them already?" Mia looked at Felix skeptically, "When did you call?"
"While you were preparing dinner," Felix sat down on the couch, "I told them you wouldn’t be going back tonight, so there’s no need for them to save dinner for you."
Mia Foster...
If her parents knew she had returned to the apartnt, she wondered what they would think. However, it was strange that they hadn’t called to ask about her at all.
