With weary eyes and a sense of fatigue, Felix Shaw didn’t return to the bedroom to rest. Instead, he lay on the sofa, watching Mia Foster bustling about in the kitchen, occasionally opening his eyes groggily, afraid to fall into a deep sleep.
"Get up, it’s ti to eat!" Mia shouted angrily from the kitchen after placing the last of the soup on the dining table. Though angry, dinner was prepared with nourishing ingredients.
Scallop and sea cucumber soup, braised eel, beef with potatoes... Watching the table full of delicious dishes, Felix dared not pick up his chopsticks. After what happened, how could she be in the mood to cook so much good food for him?
Licking his lips and looking at Mia burying her head in her al, Felix tentatively asked, "Honey... is this a breakup dinner?"
Mia initially wanted to say yes but seeing Felix’s cautious deanor, she gave him a cold glance and said, "Today, you did charity and went to plow soone else’s field, you worked hard!"
"Honey~" Felix stretched his hand across the table to clasp Mia’s hand holding the rice bowl. Mia glanced at the spot Felix grabbed and coldly said, "Let go!"
"I won’t," Felix said stubbornly like a naughty child, "Honey, please don’t be mad. It’s all because your husband is too simple-minded and fell into Elizabeth’s trap,"
Seeing Mia’s cold glare, Felix hurriedly vowed, "But honey, rest assured, this ti I won’t let her go!"
"Hmph," Mia sneered, her curled lips full of sarcasm, "You? Spare !"
"Honey!" Felix shook Mia’s wrist slightly, and before he could say anything more, Mia glanced at the rice bowl nearly dropped by his shaking and sternly warned, "Felix Shaw, take your dirty hand away. Don’t make say it twice!"
Felix...
eting Mia’s obviously furious gaze, Felix dejectedly pulled his hand back, speaking in a low, lacking-in-confidence tone.
"Honey, this ti I really won’t let her go,"
"Felix Shaw, this is a battle between won, you’re not allowed to interfere!"
Pouting slightly, Felix acknowledged with an "oh," and just as he picked up his chopsticks, Mia coldly ordered again, "Drink all the sea cucumber soup!"
"Okay," Felix, like a beaten dog, poured himself a bowl of soup and began slurping it down.
Feeling guilty yet sowhat touched, he noticed that all the dishes on the table were made with strengthening ingredients.
He quickly finished the small bowl of soup, then poured another. While eating, Felix thought to himself that he must eat more to strengthen himself and when the ti cos, serve his wife comfortably.
After dinner, Felix went back to the bedroom, adhering to the "reduce your presence when your wife is angry" principle.
Standing in front of the sink, Mia was lost in thought even while washing the dishes.
This ti, Elizabeth White’s intention was clearly extortion; she blatantly ntioned it over the phone... Although she didn’t earn as much as an A-list celebrity, she wasn’t so poor as to rely on extortion for a living. She must urgently need money!
With a tightened gaze, Mia snapped out of her thoughts when she felt her toes soak through in her slippers. She hurriedly turned off the faucet, tidied up the kitchen, and returned to the living room with the phone in hand.
In the bedroom, Felix lay on the bed, constantly scratching, obviously exhausted but afraid to fall asleep, as he needed to appease his wife soon.
His skin felt terribly wrinkled. He thought to himself about how tough Mia could be, using so much bleach that his skin got several sores.
