"Aren’t you going to take a look?" Sophie Foster whispered softly, then let go of her hand hooked around Nicholas Croft’s neck.
Nicholas looked up, "Let’s go."
Suddenly, Sophie pushed Nicholas away and sat up straight, fanning herself and taking deep breaths while muttering, "I was really suffocating." She showed no shyness or apology for the "forced kiss" with a stranger.
Nicholas leaned back into the seat, one hand resting on the back, his legs elegantly crossed, smoking a cigarette while watching Sophie with interest.
Only then did Sophie seem to realize sothing was amiss, hastily stopping her fanning and saying to Nicholas, "Thanks for just now!"
Though it was a thank you, it ca out of Sophie’s mouth without a trace of gratitude, her tone casual as if chatting. Seeing Nicholas smoking, she turned her gaze to the low table in front, grabbed the pack of cigarettes, and took one out.
She wiggled her fingers at Nicholas, "Lighter, please."
Due to his status, Nicholas was never short of won throwing themselves at him, but Sophie’s approach was a first for him.
In fact, he knew that this girl in front of him wasn’t actually throwing herself at him. The two people chasing her earlier didn’t seem to be pretending. What intrigued Nicholas was the girl’s exceptionally carefree attitude.
Having just narrowly escaped, she acted as if nothing had happened, sitting before a stranger, chatting and smoking.
Looking at the girl with dreadlocks, Nicholas still tossed the lighter over. Sophie caught it with both hands, admiring it, "Whoa, gold! Quite the tycoon."
After saying that, she lit her cigarette, took a drag, leaned back, closed her eyes, and gently exhaled the smoke, looking comfortably like a seasoned smoker.
After satisfying her craving, Sophie placed the lighter on the low table, looked at Nicholas, and said with a smile, "This cigarette is nice." Even though it was over a hundred bucks, just smoking it felt different from her usual cheap pack, lifting her mood.
Nicholas languidly leaned back, took a puff, and as he exhaled the smoke, raised an eyebrow, half-smiling at Sophie, and glanced at the cigarette in her hand, "Aren’t you afraid there’s sothing in it?"
"Huh?" Sophie’s smoking action paused, her heavily made-up face showing clear surprise, even if only for a mont. But she quickly brought the cigarette back to her lips, took another drag, and chuckled, "Not afraid, with prices so high, getting sothing extra would actually be a gain for ,"
With that, she took two more puffs in quick succession.
Watching the carefree girl before him, Nicholas wore an amused expression, his dayti tension from work loosening up, enjoying the free company for the evening.
Exhaling the smoke from her mouth, Sophie grabbed her wig as if to get up to leave but suddenly paused, "Hey, mister,"
Nicholas raised an eyebrow, as if waiting for Sophie to speak. She pointed at the corner of her own lips with her finger, "There, you’ve got my lipstick on you."
Nicholas raised his hand and, at Sophie’s prompt, leisurely wiped the lipstick from the corner of his mouth, casually asking as he leaned over to stub out his cigarette in the ashtray, "Are you always this casual?"
"What?" Sophie paused her attempt to get up again, looking at Nicholas in confusion as he pointed nonchalantly at his own lips.
Sophie took a drag, suddenly blowing out smoke with a relaxed smile, "Handso, don’t tell you’ve never kissed a woman before? I won’t buy it."
