“Currently, the pany’s share price is unstable, and we’ve lost the bidding on the government’s project. Huai’an, when do you intend to end your vacation and e back to work?” Fu Qingquan asked, seemingly casually, his tone of voice relaxed and natural.
“When I left, I instructed Lu Jinnan on all matters. Logically speaking, even though I wasn’t around at the pany, things should have operated as per normal. But later, Lu Jinnan was chased out of the meeting room, and the pany’s senior management replaced people in so many important positions, causing internal strife. I’m not at all surprised the pany failed to win the bid!”
As Fu Qingquan’s eyes met Fu Huai’an’s deep ones, he gritted his teeth.
Fu Huai’an was putting the blame on Fu Qingquan.
Originally, Fu Huai’an had made all the proper arrangements, and it was Fu Qingquan who insisted on driving Lu Jinnan away and elevating Lu Qingmei’s position. They couldn’t wait to replace several vital positions with Lu Qingmei’s kin, and this was what worsened things at the Kaide Corporation, causing everyone to be panicky. It was a joke to think that such a Kaide Corporation would be able to win the bid for the government project.
“Granduncle, are you asking Brother Huai’an to end his vacation and return to clear up the mess?”
Who didn’t know how to feign innocence?
Su Manman asked Fu Qingquan with a puzzled look, her beautiful eyes clean and bright.
“Manman!”
Su Manman’s mother shot Su Manman a warning look.
Su Manman’s neck shrunk. She raised her teacup and took a sip, pretending that she hadn’t said anything.
Fu Qingquan clutched the sofa’s armrest. He needed Fu Huai’an now and didn’t wish to have a plete falling out with him. Fu Qingquan raised his hand and looked at his wristwatch. “There’s still time before dinner. Huai’an, e with me to the study.”
Secretary Song quickly went over to help support Fu Qingquan.
“If you’re not used to being around so many people, go out and take a walk with Fu Manman…” Fu Huai’an said to Lin Nuan.
Seeing Lin Nuan nod, Fu Huai’an leisurely got up and followed Fu Qingquan upstairs to the study.
Su Manman held her teacup and leaned towards Lin Nuan, lowering her voice with Lin Nuan as she pretended to sip her tea. “I feel that Granduncle must have too much pride and is only prepared to soften his stand with your husband when no one else is around. He must be asking your husband to return to the Kaide Corporation to save the pany. Do you believe it?”
Lin Nuan also raised her teacup, and as she took a sip of the tea with the cup covering her lips, she said, “I don’t understand Old Master Fu much. Who knows? But regardless of what happens, Huai’an has his plans…”
Su Manman nodded.
After setting down the teacup, Lin Nuan asked, “How e I don’t see Tuan Tuan around?”
“I was told that Tuan Tuan is asleep upstairs. It has been half a day, so he should be awake by now!”
Su Manman glanced at her phone, then pulled Lin Nuan up with her. She said that she was going upstairs to see Tuan Tuan, then quickly went up with Lin Nuan.
“Seeing Lin Nuan in person, I realize the young lady is prettier than on TV. It’s just that she’s a little too skinny!” Su Manman’s grandmother stared at Lin Nuan and Su Manman’s back views and said this. Her heart ached a little for Lin Nuan.
Old Madam Fu didn’t utter a sound. She wasn’t very fond of Lin Nuan, but Fu Huai’an liked her a lot, so there was nothing Old Madam Fu could do about it.

“No matter how excellent she is, you’re not the one living your life with that Chu lass, so what is there to feel pity about? The one Huai’an leads his life with should, naturally, be the one Huai’an likes! Don’t tell me Huai’an should marry for your sake! Are you the one living with her every day?” Fu Qinghe spoke up righteously.
Old Madam Fu was speechless.

Fu Qinghe had unconsciously angered Fu Qingquan on many occasions, to the point where smoke could nearly be seen ing out of Fu Qingquan’s nostrils. In the past, Old Madam Fu listened on with glee, but when it happened to her, she wasn’t so gleeful anymore.
This was perhaps the reason Fu Qinghe had lived the life of a bachelor and was unable to find an old mate for so long—he was too straightforward and upright.

Su Manman used Tuan Tuan as a good excuse to get Lin Nuan out of the living room…
Not counting Fu Cheng’s two kids, today, only three people of Su Manman’s generation were here—herself, Fu Huai’an, and Lin Nuan.
One reason was that the kids were all grown up and were busy with their own matters, so they didn’t have time to gather like the old folks did.
Another reason was that Fu Qingquan hadn’t set foot in the Fu family mansion all these years. Although Fu Huai’an was doing well now, everyone knew that Fu Qingquan had an illegitimate son outside and that he was planning on handing the Kaide Corporation to that illegitimate son.
Instead of using this time to attend the birthday of a person they didn’t know in order to get into Fu Huai’an’s good books, they would rather socialize with clients and talk business deals with them, or even hang out with chicks at bars.
Su Manman walked Lin Nuan to Tuan Tuan’s room and plained along the way. She said, “I don’t know if it’s because I have gotten older, but I feel like this gathering by the old people is getting more and more boring. Unfortunately, my grandmother loves bringing me along. I think I should take on more work and stop resting at home!”

Once, the Lins’ grandmother had loved bringing Lin Nuan along with her everywhere too. Although she was strict with her, her adoration and love towards Lin Nuan were evident in her eyes.
