Serena Sullivan looked at Ethan Grant’s somber face. In her mory, he didn’t like Renee using her elder sister status to ddle in his affairs, but he wouldn’t retaliate so brutally.
"What’s going on between you and your sister?"
Serena’s gentle voice pulled Ethan’s thoughts back, easing his expression and softening his voice, he replied, "Nothing!"
Afraid that Serena would be suspicious, he continued to explain, "She arranged for Mrs. Zimrman to give you a hard ti. If I don’t teach her a lesson, she’ll use other ans next ti."
Ethan paused there, looked up at the Lockwood’s door in the distance, and in a steady voice, he murmured, "It’s also..."
"Kill the chicken to scare the monkey!"
Killing "Renee," deterring the residents of The Grant Family’s old house.

Serena responded, having a feeling there was more going on between Ethan and Renee.
They walked towards the door, while behind them, the shouts in the banquet hall were particularly terrifying.
The bodyguards wouldn’t hurt the guests, but a group of them wantonly smashing things inside, how could it not frighten them!
Even Renee didn’t expect Ethan not only to have soone kick her but also smash her territory.
At the Lockwood’s entrance, a car pulled up.
The man inside saw Ethan pushing Serena out, wearing a sullen face.
He heard screams coming from inside the Lockwood house and frowned at Ethan standing before him.
"What did you do!"
"Smashed the Lockwood’s."
Ethan replied calmly, not showing if Carter Lockwood was angry, his face remained sullen anyway.
"You can go smash The Grant Family’s old house in return."
Ethan suggested, indifferent since it wasn’t his house being smashed.
Not clear on Ethan’s intention, Carter frowned, didn’t respond, and habitually took out a cigarette from his pocket.
The cigarette, taken out, wasn’t lit when he saw Ethan reaching out.
Thinking Ethan was craving a smoke too, Carter handed it over.
Unexpectedly, Ethan seriously said, "No smoking."
Carter looked displeased, damn it, after smashing his Lockwood house, he couldn’t even smoke at the doorstep.
Seems like he’ll have to bring people over to smash The Grant Family’s old house.
"Let’s go."
Ethan said to Serena, who was watching Carter.
Serena turned her gaze back and asked Ethan, "Is that Uncle Carter?"
"Yeah!"
"Isn’t Uncle Carter married?" Serena inadvertently asked this question.
"Single dog, can’t find a wife."
Not pleased by Serena’s interest in Carter’s affairs, Ethan replied.
Serena found it hard to believe. She rembered when she started dating Ethan, Carter was single, and after four years, he’s still single.
His face might be "sullen," but he’s handso, wealthy with influence, and over thirty, it shouldn’t be difficult for him to be single.
"He..." Serena wanted to ask if Carter had dated over the years but didn’t finish as she heard the screech of ergency brakes followed by a loud "bang." They turned to see a sports car aggressively crash into Uncle Carter’s SUV.
