As the ringtone sounded in the quiet surroundings, he heard it—it must be his phone ringing. It must be her.

They had broken up until now, and finally, she called him.

"Aunt Xu, bring my phone!"

He quickly turned over and got out of bed, running barefoot to the door. As he tried forcefully to open the door, again and again, there was only the sound of the iron lock outside, nothing else.

"Aunt Xu, Aunt Xu, hurry and open the door for ."

The ringtone of the phone beca more urgent. He knew this must be Serena calling him.

He slamd and pounded incessantly, seeing nobody co from outside. Even if soone did co, they were afraid to unlock the door for him. He turned around, surveying the room all around.

It was a ss; since he was locked in, he had smashed everything he could—the cupboard, lamp, chair, and table lay scattered on the ground.

Only the bed was still relatively intact.

He went over, picked up a chair, and threw it hard in the direction of the door.

The Grant Family’s door is solid. If he could have smashed it open, he would have left long ago.

Knowing this fact, he still kept smashing, smashing until the whole house sounded, and to render everyone startled awake from their dreams.

At last, the phone sound outside went silent. Everything seed to return to tranquility. He gripped the chair with bloodied hands, his eyes glaring fiercely in the direction of the window.

From the first day he jumped and smashed through the window to escape but got caught, the old man ordered the window nailed shut from the outside.

This house he had always been proud of, unknowingly beca his prison.

In the sky, lightning struck again, his heart pounding wildly with panic. He placed his blood-covered hand over his chest, heart wailing in a tearing rage, utter pain, a pain worse than death!

He was useless. Once again, he felt like the most useless thing in the tightly locked house.

Later, waking on the cold floor, he heard the servants talking.

"Really pitiful, so young, how could he have gotten into a car accident?"

"The Young Master fought with the master for her, but now, for sure, he won’t agree to let her into the Grant Family."

A car accident!

Those two words pierced sharply like a needle into his heart. He sprang up, patting the door and questioned the cleaning servants outside.

"Who was in a car accident? Who was it!"

The servants, seeing he heard their conversation, were startled, imdiately shut their mouths, and moved to the side.

The head of the house was the master, who had once ordered no one was to tell the Young Master anything about that woman.

The people quickly left, everything returned to tranquility again, he stared dumbfounded at the white wall, mumbling, "A car accident, a car accident!"

There’s no need to ask who; it must be his Serena!

With burning anxiety and utter urgency, at this mont, all these words vanished, and his mind filled only with endless darkness.

If he knew this would happen, he shouldn’t have fussed and broken up with her; he should have taken her away and then talked about it.

Not knowing how much ti passed, the servant who brought him food as usual pushed the dishes through a newly made opening under the door, she looked inside and saw the scene, stood up in panic and shouted, "Sothing’s wrong, the Young Master’s in trouble!"
