"Serena."
Anna followed Carter Lockwood and Sean Lockwood here. They were originally heading to the front hall, but Sean Lockwood received a text and ran straight here.
Feeling curious, she followed along.
When she got here, she saw Anna push Zoe Quinn directly into the lake.
"Are you okay?"
"I’m fine."
Serena replied calmly, sitting by the lake, watching the Sullivan Family’s servants and guests co over, watching Sean Lockwood pull Zoe Quinn from the water.
"What happened?"
Claire Sullivan and Joel Quinn were also alard. They put aside matters in the front hall to co and check on the situation.
Serena had no interest in explaining. She leaned back in her chair, not saying a word. Ethan Grant walked through the crowd to stand behind her.
He blocked the view of everyone looking at Serena, becoming a barrier between Serena and the spectators. With him there, no one could do anything to Serena!
Over there, after a great effort, Sean Lockwood finally rescued Zoe Quinn, who had drunk her fill of cold water.
Claire Sullivan looked at the bedraggled Zoe Quinn erging from the water, then looked at Serena in the wheelchair. This ti, she didn’t rush forward to slap Serena.
"What is going on!"
She asked in a calm voice.
"It was my sister who had pushed into the lake."
Zoe Quinn, wet and bedraggled, leaned against Sean Lockwood, pointing at Serena and Anna.
Serena felt sowhat exhausted. Zoe Quinn ca to provoke her, and she could have avoided it or used her watch’s recording function to fight back, showing everyone Zoe Quinn’s hypocritical nature.
However, she felt tired and didn’t want to bother.
"I saw it, it was her who had Zoe pushed into the lake."
Sean Lockwood followed up.
He looked coldly at Serena, truly not expecting Serena to be so brazen, having her bodyguard push Zoe into such icy lake water.
He decided to seek justice for Zoe today.
"Sean."
Sensing Sean Lockwood’s desire to stand up for her, Zoe Quinn spoke softly, her tears falling one by one onto Sean Lockwood’s chest.
The surrounding wind erged, making her shiver with cold, causing her to cling more tightly to Sean Lockwood.
Their ambiguous posture was clearly seen by many around.
Sean Lockwood’s fondness for Zoe Quinn was a well-known secret.
Carter Lockwood instinctively looked at Anna, but Anna wasn’t watching those two; she was looking down at Serena.
Serena pressed her lips into a faint smile, neither admitting nor denying.
Exhausted, she only felt a weariness that penetrated her bones.
"Serena, why did you push Zoe into the lake?"
"Do you know how cold it is today?"
Serena remained silent, not wanting to answer.
Ethan Grant noticed her reluctance to deal with Sean Lockwood and said, "I’ll take you to your grandfather’s room to rest."
No matter how Zoe Quinn cried or how Sean Lockwood fud, his Serena was fatigued!
"Uncle."
Sean Lockwood, angry, stood up and pointed at Serena, saying, "This matter isn’t over."
"If Uncle insists on protecting Serena, I’ll have to call the police."
Sean Lockwood said, pulling out his phone from his pocket. His clothes were soaked, but luckily his phone was durable and still usable after being subrged.
The surrounding people voiced no sound, each looking at Zoe Quinn, who cried as if deeply wronged, then at Serena, who showed no fear at all.
They murmured softly, "Ultimately found a good husband, push soone, and not afraid."
"Indeed."
"Serena."
Anna couldn’t stand hearing others malign Serena; Serena didn’t care, but she felt hurt.
"She fell in by herself."
A man’s cold voice suddenly sounded, catching everyone’s attention, including Sean Lockwood, who was dialing a number.
