The obedient Ethan Grant was seriously looking for Finn Chandler as his wife instructed.
Finn Chandler was missing, and Ethan was curious why he was gone, but since Serena Sullivan told him not to ask questions, he just followed her instructions.
Also, what was going on with Julian Ford? He still hadn’t arrived.
This man had always been very punctual.
As he was getting dizzy watching the surveillance videos, his phone rang.
It must be Serena missing him!
Seeing it was Yvette Sterling’s call, Ethan Grant also thought Serena was looking for him.
He happily answered the call, intending to tell Serena that he was diligently looking into Finn Chandler’s whereabouts.
"Serena!"
"I’m looking for that, you..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Ethan heard crying from the other end, accompanied by the piercing sound of a siren.
"Sir, Madam fell off the stairs, you should co to the hospital quickly."
Yvette was with Serena Sullivan, already in the ambulance, and imdiately called Ethan Grant from the vehicle.
Ethan Grant was stunned; his entire mind was filled with Yvette’s crying words, "Serena fell down the stairs." He didn’t know how he rushed out, got in the car, and drove at full speed toward the hospital.
Along the way, he ran red lights and sped, and when he reached the hospital, he realized many traffic officers had followed him.
He didn’t have ti to deal with the tickets, but luckily Yvette Sterling, who knew about Serena’s accident, rushed over too.
Yvette spoke to the officers briefly, and they let Ethan Grant go.
Ethan sped into the hospital, and as he approached the ergency room, his steps began to slow.
The fear in his heart surged to its peak upon seeing the surgery room, and he lost all strength. As he tried to take another step forward, he staggered and collapsed to the ground.
"Sir!"
Yvette Sterling hurried over and helped Ethan up in a panic.
Yvette ca over crying.
Leaning against the wall, with red eyes, Ethan looked at Yvette; he wanted to smoke, but the hospital prohibited it.
He could only hold the cigarette between his fingers for so comfort.
"How is she?"
He slowly asked Yvette, dreading the feeling of losing Serena once again.
The despair from four years ago almost drove him mad; if Serena was gone...
Ethan Grant’s eyes turned even redder, and the cigarette fell to the ground due to his trembling hand.
He squatted down, trying to pick up the cigarette, but after a long ti, he couldn’t manage to pick it up.
It was Yvette who picked it up and handed it to the severely shaking Ethan Grant.
Yvette answered Ethan’s question, "I don’t know either."
She couldn’t recall who pushed Serena at the ti. She only rembered Serena being distracted and many people approaching them, including guests and staff.
When they reached Serena, Yvette was pushed aside, and when she turned to find Serena, she saw Serena’s wheelchair topple, falling down the steps from the second floor.
Step by step, leaving a trail of blood.
"I followed Madam to dinner..."
Yvette explained the events of the evening to Ethan Grant.
Usually, she didn’t talk much, but now, holding back tears, she recounted what Mr. Ethan said and ntioned Serena’s inability to have children to Ethan Grant.
In the end, she started crying.
"It’s my fault, I didn’t protect Madam well enough."
"It’s not your fault," Yvette comforted her and then looked at Ethan Grant’s expression.
Ethan Grant appeared calm; he wasn’t angry or sad. He just stood there in a trance for a while.
Then the sound of footsteps drew near—Anna Morgan and Carter Lockwood had arrived.
