Serena Sullivan’s voice pulled Ethan Grant’s thoughts back. He saw Serena wake up and imdiately stopped what he was doing, asking excitedly, "Serena, where do you feel uncomfortable? I’ll call the doctor right away."
Serena wanted to stop him, but Ethan had already pressed the bell at the bedside.
"Are you thirsty?"
Ethan stood up to get Serena so water. Serena glanced at his slightly swollen cheek and said, "I’m hungry."
"I’ll call Yvette Sterling."
He wanted to stay here with Serena, watching over her.
"You go buy it." The doctor ca by quickly, so matters Serena didn’t want Ethan to know.
"Okay!"
Ethan listened to Serena’s words the most. He didn’t even bother to take his coat. When he reached the door, he said to Serena, "Serena, I’ll be back quickly."
Just as Serena had expected, as soon as Ethan left, the doctor arrived.
The doctor saw that she was alone, perford a check-up, and waited for her family to co so they could discuss her current condition together.
"Doctor," Serena started speaking first, "Please don’t ntion my condition to anyone."
The doctor was startled, thinking Serena might not know about her body’s condition.
"The blood clot in your brain if..."
As a doctor, saving lives is his duty; he couldn’t ignore Serena’s situation.
"I understand," Serena interrupted, "The surgery will be done, but I hope you won’t ntion this to my family."
This "family" referred to Ethan Grant, who claid to be her "husband."
The doctor looked at Serena with so difficulty, "Your situation is not optimistic; if you don’t undergo surgery..."
"Isn’t it the sa result if I do the surgery?" Serena replied with a smile. The doctor was taken aback, firstly because Serena understood her own situation, and secondly because soone facing life and death could smile so calmly.
"Doctor, I need your help."
The doctor shook his head and sighed lightly. He didn’t agree, intending to discuss it with her husband once he returned.
Just after leaving the ward, he received a phone call. It was from Doctor Des Davis.
Given this, he had no choice but to keep the matter concealed.
What a pity, such a beautiful and clever girl would give up the two percent chance of survival.
Serena slept till dawn, Ethan stayed with her the entire night, barely sleeping as he watched over her.
The next day, people ca one after another to visit Serena.
The first to arrive was Finn Chandler, who didn’t know where she had gone the entire night. She wore a casual turtleneck sweater, hair neatly combed, and hurriedly pushed the door open.
Ethan, who was preparing dicine and hot water for Serena, heard the sound and turned his head to see Finn. Both of their faces imdiately darkened, their anger directed at each other.
"Serena!"
Finn glared at Ethan, her voice waking up Serena from her slumber.
Serena opened her eyes, saw Finn, and a smile appeared on her face.
"You’re back."
Last night, after coming out of a coma, Serena received a text ssage from an unknown number.
The ssage had three words: "I’m fine."
Serena imdiately knew it was from Finn, but whose number was Finn using? She was quite curious about that.
"Yes!"
Finn responded, the events of last night too chaotic; she had borrowed a man’s cellphone to send Serena a ssage, and afterward, got caught up in a tumultuous clash again.
After waking up, she secretly left the room at the first chance, returned ho, and used the phone to call Anna Morgan to find out Serena was in trouble.
"You disturbed Serena."
