"Ten tis!"
Ethan Grant replied, reaching out to extinguish the cigarette on the window sill, then turned his head to look at Zoe Quinn.
Imdiately after, the sound of a slap echoed in the quiet mall.
As Zoe was silently pleased, thinking Ethan would stand up for her, a figure flashed in front of her. Before she could react, a hand swung towards her swollen cheek.
The face that was already in excruciating pain now hurt to the core, and tears uncontrollably stread down.
Zoe hurriedly covered her cheek and retreated.
The smoke dispersed, and the man standing by the window remained handso and noble. But his eyes were cold as ice, like sharp swords ready to tear her to pieces.
Zoe didn’t understand why Ethan would have his people hit her!
"Brother Ethan!"
Zoe called again, her eyes filled with tears, looking heartbroken at Ethan: "What did Zoe do wrong?"
She didn’t understand; Ethan was supposed to help her hit Serena Sullivan, but instead, his people were hitting her.
Could it be that before Ethan arrived, Serena said sothing crazy to him!
Zoe’s eyes widened, sobbing she shouted, "Brother Ethan, don’t believe what’s Serena says. She’s just jealous of , can’t stand to see us together."
To her pitiful cries, Ethan coldly looked on, speaking softly, "Nine more!"
Zoe turned to run, but the building had been cleared, leaving only Ethan and his people. She hadn’t run far before two bodyguards caught her again.
Her face had already been swollen and unsightly from the slaps. Ethan’s people raised their hands, hesitating.
"Slap!"
The cold command ca, hands rose and fell, and the sound of slapping instantly echoed through the silent mall, "Pa-pa-pa," making everyone hold their breath, fearing they might make a sound and anger Ethan.
At the fourth slap, Zoe was still crying out for "Brother Ethan"; but by the fourth, she lost even the strength to cry—not just her cheek, even her ears were ringing, and her heart...
She had been quietly in love with Ethan for years. It wasn’t until Serena left Solaria that she dared to pursue him, chasing him for three whole years.
A month ago, Ethan changed his cold attitude towards her, taking her to major banquets, and even introduced her to dia as his fiancée.
Then he proposed, held a grand wedding, one thing after another, she was imrsed in happiness, believing she was the most enviable woman.
Who’d have thought, Serena returned and disrupted everything...
"Brother Ethan, sis is sowing discord between us. You can’t treat like this just because of her words."
Coming to her senses, Zoe lowered her head and cried again.
Hearing her words, Yvette Sterling standing nearby couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
This Zoe Quinn must be out of her mind or feeling exceptionally good about herself; even after being hit like this by Mr. Ethan, she still thinks Mrs. Serena is the one sowing discord!
Wasn’t it Mr. Ethan who raged on her behalf?
Zoe Quinn took advantage of Mrs. Serena being alone in the restroom, led people over to ambush her; if Serena wasn’t quick-witted, she’d be the one beaten beyond recognition, locked in the storage room today!
Bullying soone with limited mobility, truly despicable.
"Zoe Quinn."
Ethan walked towards Zoe, looking at her face, beaten beyond recognition without a trace of apology, only anger.
"Using such despicable tactics to hurt her again, I’ll make you understand what the price is!"
With a chilling voice, Zoe raised her head to see Ethan standing before her, body tense, frozen in place limply.
Ethan, usually cold and detached, was intimidating; but never like now, emitting a terrifying aura like The Asura King from hell.
