She didn’t love Joel Quinn, so Claire Sullivan wasn’t too heartbroken over his betrayal. She was angry with herself for finding a scumbag who hurt Serena Sullivan and regretted it.
But in front of Mr. Sterling, she harbored a deep-rooted hatred.
At this mont, she feared even more that Mr. Sterling would reveal their past acquaintance. He didn’t love her, nor did he ever treat Serena as his daughter, and the possibility of him bringing up their history wasn’t out of the question.

Claire Sullivan withdrew her hand with a cold smile, thinking if he found her dirty, she found him disgusting!
"Serena, let’s go." Claire Sullivan turned her head with a smile and said to Serena Sullivan.
Serena knew Mr. Sterling was aloof and unfathomable, so it was understandable that he didn’t touch Claire Sullivan’s hand.
"Okay!" Serena replied, not wanting to spend more ti with Mr. Sterling.
Claire Sullivan gave Mr. Sterling a smile, but as she pushed Serena past him, the smile vanished, replaced by an exceptionally sharp look filled with chilling disdain.

Claire Sullivan suddenly beca uneasy, recalling how Mr. Sterling bumped into Serena at the mall, fearing he was targeting her.
After a few steps, Claire Sullivan spoke to Serena, "This man looks difficult to deal with, Serena, you should keep your distance."

The confusion in Claire Sullivan’s eyes was apparent to Serena, who said, "He previously invited to a Sterling Corporation party."
Serena simply recounted the events at the Sterling Corporation. Claire Sullivan had been in a low mood yesterday and t with Ruth Hale today, so she didn’t know what had happened at the party.
Upon hearing how Mr. Sterling had stepped on Serena to make Miss Sterling outshine, Claire Sullivan furiously cursed, "Bastard!"
