Finn Chandler’s voice grew irritated.
Always talking about her! Never thinking about himself.
"I don’t want to be with a man who’s both brainless and not quite right."
Serena Sullivan said half-jokingly.
"Serena, without you, he would definitely go crazy."
Crazy!
Serena didn’t think Ethan Grant would.
"Serena, even if the surgery has only a one percent chance, would you please try?"
Finn got emotional, she held Serena’s hand, her eyes red as she spoke.
Serena didn’t answer, her hand fell to her knees.
"Finn, I’m so tired! Too tired."
She had long been contemplating ending her life.
Four years ago, losing her child and paralyzing her legs, she didn’t want to live.
For four years, she lived like a walking corpse, preferring death over life.
Four years later, upon learning she hadn’t much ti left, she gladly accepted the arrangent.
Living, to her, was truly exhausting, and she didn’t want to live with the identity of soone with no dignity.
While they chatted, they hadn’t noticed Anna Morgan had returned.
Anna Morgan had gone to the restroom and ca back, overhearing discussions about surgery.
Upon hearing Serena’s "too tired," tears quickly poured from her eyes.
They truly believed she knew nothing; Des Davis couldn’t reach Serena, so he called her.
That’s how she found out Serena refused to undergo the surgery.
She felt awful, but since the two didn’t ntion it, she pretended not to know, continuing to be their joyful source of happiness.
Anna Morgan thought, raised her hand to wipe the tears from her eyes, flashed a smile, and entered, saying, "I heard there’s a delicious fish dish here."
"Do you want to eat?"
"Sure!"
Finn’s mood returned to normal when Anna Morgan entered, and Serena smiled in response.
The three sat together, talking and laughing, none ntioning the surgery.
Even if they knew that, as long as Serena decided, they would still assist her despite their reluctance.
Ethan Grant was truly clingy; barely forty minutes into the al, he hurried over, causing Finn to quickly wolf down her food and leave.
Ethan Grant clung to Serena; missing her for a mont gave him panic.
At night, he would still hold Serena to sleep, and what made Ethan happy was that Serena was very obedient in his arms, neither struggling nor harsh – giving Ethan hope for the future.
He didn’t know that Serena let him hold her to leave him so final tenderness.
Also clinging to her tightly was Claire Sullivan.
After helping Claire threaten Ruth Hale, Claire ca every day with a lunchbox to Willow Yarrow, spreading out als she cooked first thing in the morning.
Serena had tasted them, the flavor was good, never expecting Claire to be such a skilled cook.
"Joel Quinn signed."
Claire ca again today, speaking as she brought out the soup she had prepared.
Serena looked at Claire’s smiling face without responding.
"I didn’t give him a single cent."
Claire continued.
Joel Quinn feared she’d gather evidence to sue him for bigamy, so he reluctantly signed the agreent.
"I know."
Serena replied, having heard from Anna yesterday.
"Mm-hmm."
Claire responded, seeing Serena looking unenergetic, she reached out to feel Serena’s forehead.
"What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Her hand had just touched Serena’s, and Serena quickly removed it.
"Claire Sullivan, since your matters are settled, please leave."
