With the backing of two major families from the Imperial Capital, Felicity Sterling exudes nobility and elegance. Rarely does anyone dare to show her a poor attitude, and even rarer does she swallow such a bellyful of anger.
Maintaining the deanor of a prestigious lady, she walked out of the mall with a smile on her face; the difference was the increased weight in the sound of her high heels striking the ground.
She was stomping hard with each step!
A car stopped at the entrance, and Felicity got in, montarily stunned at the sight of the noblewoman inside.
"Mom!"
Mrs. Sterling smiled at Felicity as she boarded the car, saying, "I just saw Ethan Grant."
She had co to pick up Felicity and saw Ethan Grant along with Serena Sullivan and others.
"Yes!"
Felicity lowered her head, recalling the anger she endured in the mall, her tone growing cold.
Mrs. Sterling noticed her unease, "What’s wrong?"
"Did she upset you?"
Though Mrs. Sterling didn’t explicitly say who "she" was, Felicity knew she ant Serena Sullivan.
Felicity lifted her head, her eyes filled with anger and resentnt, "Mom, am I not better than her?"
If she truly wasn’t better, Felicity wouldn’t be so frustrated.
She had a better family background, a higher education, and outshone Serena in design.
Moreover, Serena was disabled, a cripple.
"She’s more beautiful."
Mrs. Sterling smiled, speaking plainly.
Felicity’s gaze dimd; Serena’s face was indeed beautiful and more refined than hers.
"But what’s the use of beauty?"
"All those mistresses are very beautiful!" Mrs. Sterling’s smile deepened, she spoke lightly.
"Felicity, don’t bother with soone who doesn’t surpass you in anything. No matter how beautiful she is, she’s just a cripple who can’t have children."
Can’t have children!
Cripple!
Either of these was enough for everyone to look down on Serena.
As for beauty and ability, what use were they?
"Hmm, hmm." Felicity nodded, agreeing with Mrs. Sterling.
She then thought about Ethan Grant’s attitude towards her; clearly, he hadn’t rembered her at all.
"Mom, he doesn’t like ."
Felicity said, feeling dejected.
She couldn’t understand it — her status was so noble, her family background so excellent, the elders of The Grant Family treated her like a treasure.
Yet Ethan Grant didn’t even spare her a glance.
"I know!"
Mrs. Sterling replied.
Ethan Grant’s attention was all on Serena Sullivan; how could she not notice!
"You can’t rush."
"Your father won’t allow Ethan Grant to marry her."
Mrs. Sterling’s words lightened up Felicity, she happily wanted to say sothing, only to see Mrs. Sterling’s face return to a more serious expression.
Felicity felt puzzled, wondering why her mom suddenly seed less pleased.
"Let Ethan Grant like Serena if he wishes. As long as everyone in The Grant Family acknowledges you, that’s what matters."
Mrs. Sterling pat Felicity’s hand and smiled, continuing, "Have a good night’s sleep tonight, dress nicely tomorrow, and we’ll go have dinner at The Grant Family’s house."
"The Dowager Grant wants to see you."
"Alright!"
Felicity replied with a smile.
The Dowager Grant was Ethan’s elder; her request to see Felicity was an indirect acknowledgnt of her status. She thought of Serena sitting in the wheelchair at the mall, a cold smile curling her lips.
She had happened to be shopping, saw Serena enter a won’s clothing store in a wheelchair, and followed her in, deliberately buying every outfit to flaunt in front of Serena, even intentionally ntioning pants.
She just hadn’t expected Serena to maneuver n skillfully, playing Ethan Grant like a fool.
However, no matter how well Ethan treated Serena, she would never be accepted by anyone in The Grant Family!
