"You’ll get better." Ethan Grant quickly took over the conversation, and Serena Sullivan had just fed him a piece of candy, so he was happy again.
"Serena, I want to marry you."
"Hmm!" Serena smiled, reaching out to touch Ethan’s cheek. How could she tell him that her legs wouldn’t recover! She could never marry him.
Ethan Grant was really a person who was easy to coax.
At least he was in front of Serena.
Serena gave a smile, and he would smile along; Serena gave a nice word, and he could be happy for a whole day; Serena said she loved him, and he would pamper her to the heavens.
This man might have many flaws, sotis cold and ruthless, sotis sullen and terrifying, but in front of Serena, he was like a puppy, easily coaxed.
Perhaps this was why Serena loved him.
Because Serena didn’t agree, the marriage certificate wasn’t obtained, but she said they’d get it after the surgery, and this also coaxed Ethan.
Ethan’s mood wasn’t affected; he happily went to work. On his way to The Grant Corporation, he thought of Serena’s situation and called Sister Anna. Sister Anna said Serena was asleep again.
Upon hearing this, Ethan’s mood suddenly beca heavy. In the past two days, he had been increasingly uneasy. Initially, he thought he was worried that Serena wouldn’t be able to heal her legs abroad; now, he realized it wasn’t that.
It was Serena’s health situation that made him anxious.
How could there be soone who slept all day? She was like a candle about to burn out, blown away by the wind, gone.
"Yvette, to the hospital."
Ethan rembered Serena falling from the second floor last ti, and she should have had an examination at the hospital.
This was the quickest way to know about Serena’s health condition.
The car turned around and headed for the hospital.
Serena was woken up by Finn Chandler’s call; she woke with a start and felt like she was still dreaming.
"Serena, did you fall asleep again?"
As soon as the call connected, Finn asked directly.
Serena responded softly with a "hmm," and quickly changed the subject, "Is everything ready?"
According to the plan, they should be leaving these two days.
Serena looked around; she had developed feelings for the place after staying at Willow Yarrow’s for so long and was reluctant to leave.
No, she was reluctant to leave this world.
Unfortunately, what use was that? Living, she was tired of it and afraid of it too.
"How about tonight?"
Finn paused, suggesting.
She didn’t want to delay anymore either; with Serena’s condition, she had to be taken away imdiately.
But whether to go through with the surgery or not was sothing Finn was very hesitant about.
Des Davis had urged her several tis too; she couldn’t bear to just watch Serena leave like that.
If the surgery was done, the outco could be worse than now, which would be even more painful for Serena.
No matter what, first take her away.
Serena didn’t answer imdiately; after a while, she replied, "Okay."
"Let’s have dinner together tonight."
According to the previous arrangent, leaving Ethan Grant’s sight with the excuse of dining with Finn and Anna Morgan, he wouldn’t suspect anything.
"Hmm."
Finn responded, and thinking of Ethan, she softened her voice and said, "Serena, once you leave, I’m afraid Ethan will collapse!"
You could tell if soone loved another person just by the look in their eyes.
Serena lost her legs, and Ethan was responsible, but that didn’t deny his deep love for her!
If Serena disappeared, what would happen to Ethan Grant when he couldn’t find her! A little thought, and Finn could guess.
"He’ll be fine."
Serena believed that ti could heal everything; on the contrary, if she were alive, even if she beca a vegetable, Ethan would take care of her.
