Ethan Grant’s hands trembled even more, and at this mont, his eyes also reddened.
"After the accident, the main reason she couldn’t use her legs was because there was a blood clot in her brain pressing against certain nerves."
"What about surgery?"
Ethan asked again in a low voice.
If the surgery worked, Finn Chandler and the others would surely have taken Serena Sullivan for the procedure.
For so many years, Serena hadn’t undergone surgery, which ant the risk must be extrely high.
"A success rate of two to three percent."
Finn smiled and stretched out her hand in front of Ethan, "Give a cigarette."
As Young Master Chambers, Finn knew how to smoke from an early age.
Ethan didn’t think much, he pulled out a cigarette and handed it over, lighting one for himself as well.
"Three percent?"
Ethan thought the success rate was five percent, but he hadn’t expected it to be so low.
"Moreover, if the surgery fails, Serena will remain in a deep sleep forever."
Finn said while smoking.
"A vegetative state."
Ethan understood why Serena hadn’t told him, why she wasn’t willing to undergo surgery.
The surgery, perford or not, would leave her a re breathing shell.
At that ti, she would surely beco dependent on others.
"Yes."
Finn responded, feeling emotionally complex and heavy all of a sudden, puffing intensely.
"She doesn’t want to burden , nor does she want you to remain unmarried all your life for her sake."
"Ethan Grant, what makes you deserving, for Serena to love you so much?"
Finn asked mockingly, her eyes reddening.
Ethan should be responsible for Serena’s later years.
She had once told Serena, thinking that Ethan had this responsibility, this obligation.
Serena rejected it.
Not for any particular reason, but because she wished for Ethan to find happiness again.
Upon saying this, Finn fell silent, smoking the cigarette in her hand to its end.
"Do you have anything else to ask?"
"Serena wants to leave?"
Ethan asked again.
"Yes."
Finn admitted, "She plans to leave Solaria tonight."
"Are you taking her for surgery?"
Whether it’s Finn or Anna Morgan, they wouldn’t just watch Serena fade away.
"Yes."
"Good!"
Ethan answered with one word, leaving Finn bewildered.
"Ethan Grant, you don’t need to handle Serena’s matters."
Knowing the truth, how could Ethan not take care of Serena!
He only loved Serena in his lifeti.
"I am her husband!"
Ethan stood up, gazing at Serena intently, and said seriously, "Finn, don’t let Serena know I’ve found this out."
"Proceed with your plan, take Serena away tonight."
Finn paused for a mont, quickly realizing what Ethan intended to do.
"Serena, what will you do if you remain unconscious forever?"
"If you marry and have children later, what will happen if she wakes up?"
All these are possibilities; Ethan must think clearly about the future if he is to shoulder this burden.
"My wife is Serena, as for children..."
Ethan smiled, "If they’re gone, they’re gone."
He would only have children with Serena; with anyone else, impossible!
"Ethan Grant."
Ethan’s answer made Finn feel uneasy; despite any flaws this man might have, there was one thing she had to acknowledge.
He loved Serena dearly.
"Serena decided this because she has lost the will to live."
"A person has been crippled for four years, unable to walk, unable to escape danger; she’s despaired of life."
"After the surgery fails, her will to live will be even weaker."
