"I have a suggestion." The old man from the Sterling Family smirked as he thought of what he would say next. He pushed his "car" towards "checkmate" and said with a smile, "Checkmate!"
A "car" couldn’t checkmate Ethan’s "king", so he moved his "elephant" to protect the "king".
"You’ve recently been fiercely suppressing our Sterling Family, which does no good for either of our families."
"How about this, an alliance through marriage between the Grant and Sterling families? You marry my granddaughter, one plus one is greater than two—how about it?"
The old man said this with a grin, the cunning in his eyes unnoticed by Ethan, but Wyatt, who was standing nearby and accustod to his ways, saw it.
Wyatt found it strange; Ethan hated the Sterling Family, and the old man knew it well. A marriage alliance was sothing Ethan would never agree to.
Why bring it up?
"Mr. Sterling, I’m not interested in your granddaughter."
As Wyatt expected, Ethan smirked coldly and replied.
"Oh!"
The old man took a sip of tea from the cup beside him, stretching his voice with a smile.
"Are you sure?"
He asked again.
Ethan found it amusing; would soone who despised the Sterling Family marry for the sake of benefits?
"Old man, your granddaughter doesn’t appeal to ." Ethan’s voice turned cold; Felicity was nowhere near his Serena!
"Won’t you reconsider?"
The old man asked with a smile, "My granddaughter is very beautiful! And smart!"
"Not interested!"
"Young man, don’t reply so quickly. I’ll give you three days to think it over."
The old man softened his voice, saying, "In a couple of days, we Sterling Family have a banquet. By then, co over, perhaps you’ll take a liking to my eldest granddaughter."
"No need!"
Ethan found the old man sowhat annoying, "Old man thinks his granddaughter is the best, but in my heart, no one can replace my wife."
"Your wife?"
The old man frowned. A wedding with no formality, and you consider yourself married to Serena?
Absolutely too casual!
"Sorry, Mr. Sterling, I am married!"
"Fine!"
The old man’s expression turned cold, displeased with Ethan’s response, "How about this, I’m afraid that in the future you’ll regret it and insist on marrying my granddaughter."
"You’re overthinking it, old man."
"Butler Lowell, bring pen and paper!"
To prevent Ethan from going back on his word, the old man felt it was best to write it down officially.
"Grandpa." Wyatt watched as his grandfather asked Butler Lowell to fetch pen and paper, becoming even more puzzled.
Does the old man want Ethan to marry Felicity or not?
Once the pen and paper were fetched, the old man wrote on the paper that Ethan was unwilling to marry the Sterling Family’s daughter.
Although Ethan had no desire to marry Miss Sterling, the old man solemnly wrote it down and made him sign it, he felt very uneasy!

As he finished the last stroke, the uneasiness in his heart grew more intense.
