The banquet began, and most of The Sterling Family mbers had arrived, except the old Mrs. Sterling, who claid to be ill and was resting in her room, not showing up.
The guests noticed that not everyone in The Sterling Family accepted this Eldest Miss Sterling, including Jas Sterling and his wife.
As soon as the couple appeared, they both looked displeased. Jas followed closely behind the First Mrs. Sterling, explaining that he hadn’t done anything to wrong her. The First Mrs. Sterling ignored him, giving him the cold shoulder, and even when Mrs. Sterling ca over to greet her, she paid no attention.
"The old master has arrived!"
Soone outside called out, and the guests imdiately hushed their voices, craning their necks to look out, including The Sterling Family mbers.
Mrs. Sterling had a playful smile at the corner of her mouth, watching the drama unfold concerning Jas’s affair with an illegitimate daughter.
The First Mrs. Sterling and Jas usually had a harmonious marital relationship and often showed off their love in front of her. She was eager to see the scene of a fallout between Jas and the First Mrs. Sterling.
Jas wanted to know where this daughter had co from and who she resembled.
He really felt wronged, more so than Dou E, who suffered unjustly when snow fell in June!
Mr. Sterling was not as interested as the others; he stood aside, sipping red wine slowly, his thoughts not lingering on the entering old master and Eldest Miss Sterling.
Wyatt Sterling ca up beside him, noticing the slowly appearing shadows at the door, and in a low voice called, "Dad!"
Mr. Sterling turned his head to look at him, seeing his hesitation to speak.
"It’s Serena Sullivan!"
Wyatt reminded him, the two words that ca out making Mr. Sterling stiffen. As he heard soone outside shout, "Why is she in a wheelchair," all the blood in his body seed to stop. He slowly raised his head, incredulously looking towards the door.
"Are her legs injured?"
"Why does she seem disabled?"
"Did The Sterling Family accept a cripple back?"
The people outside ca in, and the gossiping voices followed from the mouths of the guests, one after another, echoing in The Sterling Family’s banquet hall.
Nobody had expected that the Eldest Miss of The Sterling Family, acknowledged by the old master, would make her appearance in a wheelchair!
This included Mrs. Sterling and Felicity Sterling!

Felicity Sterling, surprised, tugged on Mrs. Sterling’s sleeve and asked, "Is she Serena Sullivan?"
Serena was wearing a hat, but the smile on her face was still glaringly bright, making people dislike her.
Mrs. Sterling was dazed as she watched, not answering.
"Why did she co to the Imperial Capital?"
Felicity was not as calm as Mrs. Sterling, her voice growing anxious. Wasn’t it said that Serena Sullivan had fallen into the sea, and even her body couldn’t be found?
How could she appear in The Sterling Family, and as her uncle’s illegitimate daughter!
Felicity had too many questions in her heart, feeling uncontrollably anxious about the sudden appearance of Serena Sullivan.
"Didn’t you hear? She’s The Sterling Family’s illegitimate daughter."
Felicity’s panic displeased Mrs. Sterling, who responded in a steady voice, then moved over to First Mrs. Sterling’s side.
Seeing Serena Sullivan in the wheelchair, First Mrs. Sterling was also stunned. Upon seeing that familiar face and the frozen Jas, she couldn’t help but suspect that this girl really might be her husband’s illegitimate daughter.

"Sister-in-law."
Mrs. Sterling saw the anger in First Mrs. Sterling’s eyes, and with a soft voice and a smile, she said, "Congratulations! You’ve always wanted a daughter, and now here she is."
First Mrs. Sterling did not appreciate these words, and she turned her head to glare at Mrs. Sterling.
