Mrs. Sterling gently patted Felicity’s hand, comforting her, "I told you about Wyatt’s background because I don’t want you to be used by them."
"Felicity, rember, only Mom is truly thinking about your future!"
Mrs. Sterling emphasized one last ti. Felicity, with tears in her eyes, nodded and said, "I’ll listen to you, Mom."
Felicity’s obedience made Mrs. Sterling smile with relief.
When she turned away, the smile faded from her face, and there was even a chill in her eyes.
Serena Sullivan, who was painting in her room, suddenly received a call to the old house. It was Butler Lowell on the line.
He said, please co over, a car is waiting for you at Deepwood.
Serena thought it was the old man missing her, so she temporarily put away the piece she had just started and had a servant take her outside.
A business car had already parked at the entrance of Deepwood. All cars at The Sterling Family estate were specially configured for Serena’s needs.
The wheelchair could roll directly into the vehicle, and inside was spacious with only one seat.
Once inside, Serena thought no one was there, but seeing the old lady, she paused.
"Where are you taking ?"
Serena directly asked the old lady because if she were truly being taken to The Sterling Family, the old lady wouldn’t be inside.
The old lady was her biological grandmother, yet Serena sensed that she didn’t like her.
Soone who didn’t like her wouldn’t co to pick her up and take her to The Sterling Family; it was to take her to that place.
And that place, she was unwilling to go, which is why the old lady used the old man’s na to trick her into coming out.
A person like herself, with useless legs, once in the car couldn’t get out.
The old lady, who hadn’t even cast a glance at Serena, only turned to smirk coldly when she heard the question.
"You let Ethan Grant hit soone, you must give The Ford Family an explanation."
As Serena had guessed, she refused, "I’m not going."
"Please let out of the car, Mrs. Sterling!"
The Dowager Kane had deliberately let the driver hit both her and Ethan; it was malicious!
Ethan’s retaliation, how was it solely her fault?
Serena took out her phone and called Jas Sterling.
The call was snatched away by a Sterling family servant at the door.
The servant got into the car, handed the phone to the old lady, then bent down to leave.
The old lady cut off the call she had already dialed and looked at Serena coldly, "Claire Sullivan taught you no manners at all."
"I won’t bother arguing with your rudeness towards ."
She was Serena’s biological grandmother, and yet Serena had this attitude towards her.
"However, with The Dowager Kane, you must apologize."
"Is The Sterling Family also afraid of The Ford Family?"
With the phone taken away, Serena didn’t resist futilely, but considering facing The Dowager Kane, it was truly a pipe dream.
"Stop inciting discord here!"
The old lady angrily replied, "Nancy Sterling, the trouble was caused, so stop making The Sterling Family bear the responsibility for you!"
Serena smiled, too lazy to argue with the old lady.
Her explanations were only for those who believed in her.
The old lady didn’t like her; speaking up would do no good.
Seeing that Serena ignored her and even closed her eyes to rest, the old lady angrily shouted, "I’m talking to you, what kind of attitude is this?"
"Oh!"
Serena responded without opening her eyes.
"Nancy Sterling, I don’t care what you’re like elsewhere, but here in the Imperial Capital, you cannot do as you please."
"Oh!"
Serena replied blandly again.
She didn’t argue with the old lady’s words, nor did she get angry, which made the old lady’s fury burn even more.
