There were two water glasses on the bedside table, and when one hit the floor it made a loud and clear sound, splashing water onto Madam Sterling’s clothes. She glanced at her clothes, smiled, and showed not a hint of anger.
Serena Sullivan, being far away, was unaffected.
The sudden action by The Dowager Kane caught everyone’s attention in the room, and Mrs. Kane glanced toward Serena Sullivan.
The Dowager Kane couldn’t hold back anymore. She pointed at Serena Sullivan and scolded, "Do you know why I’m lying here? It’s because this bastard had soone drive a car to hit on purpose!"
"The Sterling Family has such good manners, to produce such a daughter!"
"What!"
Madam Sterling shouted, feigning shock. She turned her head, looking at Serena Sullivan angrily, and voiced her displeasure, "Nancy, what did you do to The Dowager Kane!"
"How could you have soone run into The Dowager Kane!"
"Apologize imdiately!"
Madam Sterling’s words led straight to an apology.
As long as Serena Sullivan apologized, everything could end.
Serena Sullivan looked at the drama-queen-like Madam Sterling, smiled lightly, then raised her head to et the spiteful eyes of The Dowager Kane, and her heart sank.
Although Madam Sterling wasn’t fond of her, her gaze only carried a trace of coldness at most, with her anger plainly displayed on her face.
The Dowager Kane placed all her hatred in her eyes, and her cold gaze made Serena Sullivan uncomfortable.
Serena wondered if the elderly Kane would really forgive her if she apologized?
"Hurry up and speak!"
Madam Sterling urged, wondering if her granddaughter was a fool or as stubborn as her father, unable to adapt.
"I’m sorry, Dowager Kane!"
While Madam Sterling was anxiously glaring at Serena, Serena Sullivan spoke up.
"Hmph!"
The Dowager Kane was clearly unsatisfied; thinking a simple "sorry" could settle the scare she suffered!
Until Serena Sullivan was sufficiently tornted, this matter wouldn’t be over.
"Dowager Kane, Serena was not raised by The Sterling Family, so her manners can’t compare to Felicity. You have a big heart, so give the child a chance."
"For the sake of The Sterling Family and The Lawrence Family, let’s put it behind us."
Madam Sterling said with a smile.
She conveyed three layers of aning in her words.
First, Serena Sullivan grew up outside and doesn’t know the rules;
Second, Serena Sullivan is not as good as Felicity Sterling;
Third, she ntioned The Lawrence Family.
"It’s possible for to let it go." The Dowager Kane understood and smirked coldly at Serena Sullivan, "The doctor said I was quite badly scared, so have her stay at The Kane Family to take care of !"
Hearing The Dowager Kane’s words, Madam Sterling’s expression changed instantly.
Disliking Serena Sullivan was one thing, but leaving her here was impossible.
Madam Sterling was well aware of who The Dowager Kane was.
The twisted mbers of The Kane Family were all the creations of the Dowager herself.
With Serena Sullivan’s crippled legs remaining in the hospital, she wouldn’t escape severe tornt from the Dowager! And then there was The Kane Family’s eldest son!
Madam Sterling turned her head to glance at the young master of The Kane Family, who was sitting on the couch, staring at Serena Sullivan, and clenched her hands.
"This matter..."
"It’s settled then."
The Dowager Kane cut off Madam Sterling and finalized the matter.
"Dowager Kane, this won’t do!"
Madam Sterling hurriedly protested, bringing Serena Sullivan to apologize was one thing, but leaving her here was absolutely out of the question.
"Didn’t you bring her here to apologize? Is this the attitude of The Sterling Family?"
The Dowager Kane imdiately beca angry and shouted.
