"Mom!"
Felicity Sterling, who was practicing the piano at ho, noticed Mrs. Sterling return with a sullen look on her face and asked curiously.
"What’s wrong?"
"I’m so angry." Mrs. Sterling was about to speak when she heard the servant’s call from outside, "Sir, Young Master."
Mr. Sterling and Wyatt Sterling had returned.
Mrs. Sterling, who was seated on the sofa, imdiately stood up and went to the door.
As Simon Sterling walked in with the sunlight behind him, Mrs. Sterling’s gaze fixed on his stern and perfect face.
After all these years of looking at Simon, Mrs. Sterling still found herself srized.
She felt even prouder in her heart, this was her husband, her one and only man.
"Brother Shen, you’re back."
As he approached, passing by her, the cold breeze made Mrs. Sterling shiver.
Mrs. Sterling was montarily stunned; she suddenly realized that at this mont, Simon and Wyatt should not be back.
Their sudden return must be related to matters of the Sterling Family.
Mrs. Sterling’s face turned cold and she suspected Serena Sullivan had tattled.
Serena’s thods were indeed more formidable than Claire Sullivan’s.
She softened her expression and turned around with a smile, just as she was about to ask Simon, Simon spoke first, his voice coldly questioning.
"You went to the Sterling Residence today!"
"Yes!"
"Accompanied mom to discuss a matter there."
Mrs. Sterling sneered, "What, soone tattled to you!"
"Brother Shen, what she said isn’t true."
"I did everything purely for her good."
Simon perceived the sarcasm in Mrs. Sterling’s words about Serena. He had received a call from the old master, ntioning Mrs. Sterling had brought the Dowager Kane there with a purpose; at the ti, his heart was burning with rage!
Anger!
An anger he hadn’t felt for a long ti!
June Kane and her cohorts actually had designs on Serena.
"Alright, speak." Simon said coldly.
The surroundings fell silent due to the chilling aura emanating from Mr. Sterling. Nearby, Wyatt and Felicity sensed things weren’t right, exchanged glances, and dared not to speak.
"You know about her leg condition, it’s not very promising, she might never stand again in this lifeti."
"Your brother and sister-in-law can’t look after her for life. Besides, she’s still young, marrying early to a wealthy and powerful man is more secure."
Mrs. Sterling’s words seed reasonable.
Despite Serena’s crippled leg, she should indeed get married.
Mr. Sterling did not respond, still coldly staring at her.
Mrs. Sterling chuckled, continuing, "I know you all think she’s a match with Ethan Grant."
"Ethan Grant could hurt her four years ago, and similar things might happen again four years later."
"Besides, the elders of The Grant Family don’t like her, believing she’s not suitable for Ethan. If she really enters The Grant Family’s door, she’ll surely endure a lot of grievances."
"I’ve pondered this matter for quite so ti, so..."
Mrs. Sterling smiled while continuing, but Mr. Sterling interrupted.
"So, you want her to marry Wayne Jennings."
Mr. Sterling’s words finished, and Wyatt cried out in shock, "What!"
Mrs. Sterling’s earlier words had not ntioned Serena; when legs were referred to as crippled, along with Ethan Grant, it was clear who she ant.
Listening to Mrs. Sterling talk like she genuinely cared for Serena, her words hit the mark; Wyatt was even thinking about which young master it might be?
It had to be soone better than Ethan.
Wyatt disliked Ethan, always feeling his clingy behavior towards Serena was particularly irritating.
A good match gives Serena the right to multiple choices.
Who would have guessed it was Wayne Jennings.
