When their generation was in charge of the Sterling Family, they should have tried their best to suppress the Ford Family to avoid all the trouble that followed.
"Dad, let Wyatt take you back first!"
Simon Sterling spoke up. Having too many people waiting here was not helpful. Ethan had previously ntioned that the surgery would take a long ti; the old master and mistress were too elderly and might not be able to endure it.
"Okay!"
The old master thought for a mont and agreed.
Having sat here from morning until afternoon, they felt exhausted. Staying here wouldn’t be of much help, and it was better to go ho, rest, and then co back.
"Notify us if there is any news."
"Mm." Simon nodded and suggested First Mrs. Sterling leave as well.
First Mrs. Sterling nodded in agreent and went ho with Jas Sterling to prepare dinner.
Seeing the situation, Simon and Ethan seed determined to stay until the end, and Serena was unlikely to let them leave once she was out.
Gradually, they were persuaded to leave by Simon, leaving Claire, Ethan, and Simon outside the operating room.
Simon checked the ti on his watch and said to Claire, who was sitting opposite, "You should go back too."
This was the first sentence they’d exchanged after spending most of the day together.
Claire gazed coolly at Simon and shook her head in refusal, "I’m not leaving."
No matter what, she wouldn’t depart.
Four years ago, Serena had a car accident, and as her mother, she was not by her side to take care of her. Four years later, Serena was in surgery, and she couldn’t leave her more than ever.
"If anyone is leaving, it should be you."
Claire replied, not giving Simon any pleasantries.
"Go ho, take a shower, have so dinner, and then co back."
Simon’s tone was more assertive; after many years of being in charge at the Sterling Corporation, his temperant had grown colder than before. Even when he softened his voice, it lacked warmth.
"I won’t." Claire insisted, stuck in her stubbornness.
"Let wait here for Serena!"
Claire leaned against the wall, speaking in a low voice.
She raised her head to look at Simon, her eyes brimming with tears, which made Simon feel stifled.
The two most indebted to them were their two children.
Simon stopped trying to persuade her, and they continued to wait. They waited until nightfall, until First Mrs. Sterling brought so food, until First Mrs. Sterling left again, and that’s when Claire rembered sothing.
While waiting for Serena to co out, they had overlooked soone.
"Wyatt hasn’t co yet? Did he go to the company?"
Wyatt didn’t know about his lineage, but the blood ties were there, and he was Serena’s twin. After sending the old master ho, he couldn’t possibly not co.
"No!" Simon blurted out, pulling a phone from his pocket.
There was no ssage from Wyatt saying he wasn’t coming.
"I’ll call Wyatt."
Simon said as he stood up to make the call to Wyatt.
What was unusual was that Wyatt’s phone was unreachable.
Having been by his side for so many years, Simon knew his character the best.
With Serena undergoing surgery, Wyatt couldn’t just drop the old master off and go ho to rest without a word.
Could sothing have happened?
Thinking of this, Simon’s hand trembled, and the phone fell to the ground.
"What happened?"
Simon picked his phone up as Claire approached, asking anxiously, "Did sothing happen to Wyatt?"
Her voice trembled as she asked, tears rolling out.
Anxiety rushed through her body. One daughter was here undergoing surgery, not knowing if she’d wake up, and the other couldn’t be contacted.
