Felicity Sterling was ticulously nurtured and educated by June Kane since childhood. Her intention was for Felicity to marry into a family with power—a family like The Sterling Family or one even more formidable.
The Walsh Family was good, but Elliot Walsh had no say in The Walsh Group.
He was too content, too low-key, not the kind of man who could offer her a life of luxury and prominence.
On one hand, Felicity liked relying on Elliot Walsh. She was too aware that at the mont, she couldn’t find anyone better than Elliot.
So, when Mrs. Kane sought her out, urging her to seduce Ethan Grant, she changed her mind and slept with Elliot Walsh instead.
Once the deed was done, and coupled with Elliot’s kindness, their marriage was quickly settled.
Yet, on the other hand, Felicity was discontent.
She didn’t want to spend her life with soone as inept as Elliot, rely living off shares from The Walsh Group. She desired more.
Thinking this, her face in the mirror turned cold and grim.
She reached out to touch her reflection, feeling so troubled she wanted to cry.
"Felicity!"
Elliot called for her from outside the dressing room. Felicity snapped back to reality and replied, "Coming."
The curtain was pulled aside, and Elliot looked at her with gentle eyes.
She saw in the mirror that Elliot’s eyes were only on her, but unfortunately, this man was too practical and useless. When she was bullied at The Sterling’s old estate, he didn’t help, he only advised her to let it go.
How could she let go of all that with The Sterling Family?
Since she found out about Serena Sullivan’s existence and learned about her own background, she couldn’t let go.
"You look beautiful!"
Following closely ca Elliot’s words of praise, his smile was pleasant.
Felicity looked at herself in the mirror, sneered, "I’m nowhere near as pretty as Serena Sullivan, how is this beautiful!"
Elliot’s smile faded a bit, but he quickly mustered it again, "No, to , you’re the most beautiful."
He was not lying. Serena was beautiful, but it was Felicity he loved.
"Felicity, once we’re married, let’s move abroad."
Elliot reached out to hold Felicity’s hand, "In the future, we’ll work together, support each other."
He envisioned the future with Felicity. Although he wasn’t the head of The Walsh Family, he had shares in The Walsh Group, and over the years, had invested in nurous overseas ventures with Carter Lockwood and others.
Never mind this lifeti, but in the next and the one after, it would be enough for Felicity to live extravagantly!
He was confident about their future.
When Felicity heard Elliot ntion leaving the Imperial Capital, her heart sank. She looked up at him disdainfully.
"Elliot Walsh, are you really so afraid of Ethan Grant and Serena Sullivan?"
This man was truly useless. He couldn’t even protect the one he loved.
"Felicity!"
Elliot saw the mockery in her eyes and felt a pang of pain in his heart.
"I’m not afraid!"
"I just think you should let..."
Before he could finish the word "go," Felicity pulled her hand out of his grasp, unwilling to hear his advice.
Let go!
How does one let go!
If it weren’t for Serena Sullivan, she would be marrying Ethan Grant, becoming Mrs. Grant, and her mother wouldn’t be in jail, her father would still cherish her.
"You should go out, I need to change."
When Elliot saw that Felicity was upset again, he nodded and agreed, "Alright!"
He knew Felicity’s discontent and wanted to take her away so she could start anew.
If they lived their lives well, what did Serena Sullivan and Ethan Grant matter to them!
