Cecilia Vaughn was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn’t even realize Adrian Law had returned.
Her heart felt as if it were overwheld by a vine called jealousy, growing incessantly, choking her until she could hardly breathe.
"Let go of ..."
Annoyed, the girl pushed away Adrian Law’s hand, her expression showing displeasure.
She knew she was venting her frustration, but she simply couldn’t control her emotions.
Judging by the recent phone call, it was obvious that Rosalind White liked Adrian Law, and... she knew him far better than Cecilia did...
How could it be such a coincidence that she and Rosalind White looked so similar?
Did Adrian Law marry her initially because of this?
...
Adrian Law furrowed his handso brows slightly, keenly noticing that the girl’s emotions weren’t quite right.
And clearly, it wasn’t just because of the caral milk pudding incident.
"Cecilia, what’s wrong?"
Adrian Law gently embraced Cecilia Vaughn’s shoulders, and even though the girl kept resisting, he firmly pulled her into his arms.
Cecilia Vaughn grunted angrily, her fingers clenched tightly as her mind ran over Rosalind White’s coy remarks.
"Why are you hugging ? If you have ti, why not go hug your childhood sweetheart?"
Childhood sweetheart?
Adrian Law was rendered speechless.
He chuckled helplessly and flicked Cecilia Vaughn’s nose lightly.
"Silly Cecilia, where would I find a childhood sweetheart?"
Cecilia Vaughn felt more uncomfortable seeing him not admitting it. She gritted her teeth, glared at Adrian Law, and spoke with thorns in her voice.
"You say you don’t have a childhood sweetheart! Then who is the person who lived in your house for over ten years and once saved your life?"
"Or do you think she shouldn’t be called a childhood sweetheart but rather a first love?"
Knowing very well she was being unreasonable, Cecilia Vaughn still couldn’t help but feel aggrieved.
Looking at Adrian Law’s exceptionally handso face, it was the first ti Cecilia felt such a headache. Having a partner too outstanding and attractive could be an imnse pressure sotis.
...
Hearing Cecilia Vaughn’s words, Adrian Law suddenly understood what the little woman in front of him was really saying.
He couldn’t help but smile.
"Cecilia, I rember telling you, you’re my first love, aren’t you?"
"..."
Seeing the man dare to smile, the sense of grievance in Cecilia Vaughn’s heart deepened.
"You’re lying! You and Rosalind White used to spend day and night at The Law Residence, and you dare to say you didn’t have a shred of romantic feelings for her?"
Although she had never seen Rosalind White in person, just looking at those photography works, Rosalind White’s selfies, and knowing she saved Adrian Law’s life, made it really challenging for him not to have any affection for her.
Adrian Law gazed deeply into the girl’s eyes, his thin lips curving into a smile full of tender affection.
"What if I dare to say I’ve never liked her?"
"Cecilia, in this world, there may be countless beautiful souls, but I only like you."
Cecilia Vaughn was still angry, but hearing the man’s steady and magnetic voice made her heart skip a beat.
How can he be so good at whispering sweet nothings!
...
"I don’t believe it, you must be coaxing ."
Cecilia Vaughn sulkily turned her head. Just as she thought of breaking free from Adrian Law’s embrace, he seized her chin instead.
Adrian Law’s cool lips descended directly.
"Mmph...mm... You scoundrel..."
Cecilia Vaughn never anticipated that while discussing serious matters, this punk would ambush her!
The man’s lips skillfully entangled the girl’s tongue, his large hand pinning Cecilia Vaughn’s waist, deepening the kiss into sothing even more impossible to part from.
The air inside their mouths was seized madly, forcing Cecilia Vaughn to cling to Adrian Law’s shoulders, seeking a bit of oxygen.
After the kiss, both of them were left breathless.
Where did his cold, restrained deanor go? Who did he learn this from?
Embarrassed and furious, Cecilia Vaughn hit the man’s arm.
"You jerk! You ambushed ! Trying to dodge the issue by teasing!"
"I didn’t dodge." Adrian Law helplessly rubbed Cecilia Vaughn’s head, and noticing the girl wanted to avoid him more, his smile deepened: "I think soone overturned a vinegar jar today, how sour this is."
"I never drink vinegar!"
Cecilia Vaughn glared at him displeasedly, thinking about that similar face to hers, feeling incredibly bitter inside.
"Adrian... don’t you think Miss White and I look very similar? When you agreed to marry back then, was it because..."
Before Cecilia Vaughn could finish, the man interrupted her abruptly.
"Not alike at all? Cecilia, you’re countless tis more beautiful than her."
"..."
Cecilia Vaughn was feeling really sad, but upon hearing this, her mood inexplicably improved.
"You’re lying... Miss White’s features are obviously very pretty."
"Really? I can’t even rember her face, just seed like a passerby."
"..."
Adrian Law’s handso face showed confusion, looking as if he really couldn’t rember Rosalind White’s features—if he were pretending, his acting was top-notch!
Cecilia Vaughn couldn’t help but be a bit speechless, but the gloom in her heart dissipated, feeling as sweet as honey, as she reached out to poke Adrian Law’s forehead.
"So you’re saying, I really am your first love."
"Absolutely genuine, or why would I be so lovestruck the mont I see you?"
"Alright, then I’ll believe you this ti!"
Cecilia Vaughn’s face flushed with redness, she pecked Adrian Law’s lips lightly, and then swiftly slipped away.
This little enchantress, teasing but not taking responsibility...
Adrian Law watched Cecilia Vaughn with a smile, a look of affection in his eyes he himself hadn’t even noticed.
...
After Adrian Law got off work, Cecilia Vaughn continued to subtly inquire about Rosalind White.
But Adrian Law seed clueless about almost everything, and when Cecilia Vaughn was upset, he’d say, why should I pay attention to soone I don’t care about?
As for Rosalind White returning ho, Adrian Law outright stated that the Law Family had plenty of servants, anyone could pick her up.
Okay, okay, Cecilia Vaughn conceded defeat, letting go of this little episode.
...
The next day, Cecilia Vaughn woke up early to head to Stellerton University for a class with the departnt’s strictest Professor Sanders, where being late would be a disaster.
Who would’ve thought the subway was congested today, it took Cecilia Vaughn ages to make it on, and by the ti she got to Stellerton University, there were only 10 minutes left until class.
The campus of Stellerton University is expansive, and Cecilia Vaughn practically sprinted the whole way, only to suddenly stop as a Harley motorcycle zipped up in front of her.
These days, it’s rare to see soone riding a motorcycle, especially a Harley, which is so expensive—sotis priced higher than a BMW.
"Hey, could you point to the art departnt building?"
A sowhat lazy male voice sounded, Cecilia Vaughn was startled, seeing before her an extrely handso young man.
His hair was an unusual flaxen color, his features deep like a mixed-race, especially his srizing eyes under sunlight appearing like marbles.
The boy dressed all in black, casually sitting on the Harley motorcycle, emanating a rebellious yet gloomy aura.
He almost seed like a school heartthrob stepped out from a manga.
