Cecilia Vaughn was talking about a famous old hotpot restaurant in Stellerton. Back in high school, she and Mona Sumrs both loved spicy food, so they visited this place almost every month.
The old hotpot restaurant was decorated with an antique charm, and all the waitstaff wore traditional Tang-style costus, making it feel like a journey back to The Golden Age of the Dynasty at first glance.
Perhaps because of its excellent reputation, even though it’s past alti now, there are still many people dining here.
Cecilia Vaughn thought about how Adrian Law liked quiet, and imdiately smiled sweetly at the restaurant staff.
"Waiter, there are two of us. We’d like a top-notch private room."
"Got it. Please take your seat; it’s the third room at the end to the left."

The top-notch private room was extrely elegant with bead curtains swaying lightly, benches and square tables, and even a decorative screen with flowing water, with exquisite maidens seemingly ready to step out of the painting into reality.
Cecilia Vaughn sat on the sandalwood stool and handed the nu to Adrian Law.
"Adrian, if your stomach isn’t well, we should choose a split hotpot. You can have the clear broth, and I’ll have the spicy broth, just perfect."
The man didn’t even glance at the nu; his obsidian eyes focused on the girl in front of him, his lips curving into a faint smile.
"Just order whatever you like."
Cecilia Vaughn imdiately exclaid in surprise, "Don’t tell you’ve never had hotpot before?"
The last ti she brought Adrian Law to try a spicy stir-fry pot, it was forgivable that he hadn’t tried it, but not having had hotpot either— to a foodie like Cecilia Vaughn, it seed like Adrian Law was missing sothing in life!
The man’s handso face softened like a spring breeze, smiling at the girl’s curiosity.
"Is it really that strange to have never eaten hotpot?"
The Law Family was very strict and never allowed Adrian Law to eat street food. Hotpot, which doesn’t really have nutritional value, would never appear in the Law Family.

Cecilia Vaughn twitched the corner of her mouth. Alright, she admitted defeat!

Feeling sentintal about the dullness of the Law Family’s upbringing, Cecilia Vaughn quickly used the electronic screen to order a bunch of dishes.
She was a complete carnivore, so most of the dishes were at, only at the end did she rember to order so leafy greens, plus two bottles of iced sour plum juice.

Soon, the waiter brought the ingredients.
The split hotpot had one side rich and fiery with spicy red oil broth, and one side with creamy bubbles of red jujube and goji berry broth; the forr was spicy and fragrant, while the latter was light and nourishing.
Considering Adrian Law’s stomach, Cecilia Vaughn put a bunch of vegetables into the clear broth, such as enoki mushrooms, spinach, lotus root, napa cabbage, along with so shrimp paste and a small amount of chicken, beef, and lamb.
On the spicy side, she put mostly at since her love for at is beyond saving!
The air conditioning in the room was strong, but the temperature of the hotpot was not low. Thin slices of lamb were soon cooked, and Cecilia Vaughn fished them out from the red oil, enjoying them with so sour plum juice— absolutely delightful!

Adrian Law watched his little wife eat happily, while he barely moved his chopsticks to pick at the food from the clear broth.
The spicy oil aroma in the private room was so pungent that Adrian Law found his appetite lacking.
Yet, he would never dampen Cecilia Vaughn’s spirits, given how much she enjoyed it.
"Cecilia, eat slowly, be careful not to choke."
Adrian Law spoke, filling the cup near Cecilia Vaughn, which was almost empty, with more sour plum juice.
Cecilia Vaughn smiled, "Alright, I’m not a child."
The girl’s rosy little tongue unconsciously stuck out slightly, having eaten too much spicy food, the color on her lips even more vibrant, as if passionately kissed.
Seeing Cecilia Vaughn like this made Adrian Law feel slightly dry-mouthed.

On impulse, he took a bite of the lamb roll dipped in spicy oil from Cecilia Vaughn’s side, wanting to see if it was really as delicious as it seed.
Cecilia Vaughn was taken aback, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"Adrian, didn’t you say you don’t eat spicy food?"
The man’s gaze deepened slightly, as his pale lips curved into a smile.
"Seeing you eat so happily, I couldn’t help it."
With that, Adrian Law took a small bite of the lamb roll, inexplicably finding this heavy flavor enjoyable.
"Hmm, it’s indeed good."
This restaurant was a long-established brand, with its lamb rolls cut evenly thick and thin, perfectly tender, yet retaining a chewiness that was outstanding.
Seeing Adrian Law enjoy it, Cecilia Vaughn was delighted, but she also understood that Adrian was eating the spicy lamb because of her.
Worried that Adrian Law’s stomach might not adapt, she fished out a lot of vegetables and shrimp paste from the clear broth for him.
"Adrian, the spicy oil might be a bit pungent, actually the clear broth from this restaurant is also quite famous. Here, try this shrimp paste."
"Okay, I’ll try it."
Watching Cecilia Vaughn eat so heartily, Adrian Law, who originally had little appetite, found his hunger increasing.

Adrian Law naturally took on this responsibility, making Cecilia Vaughn feel a bit embarrassed instead.
She stared blankly at him, watching Adrian Law’s fingers move so swiftly; the seemingly simple action carried a difficult elegance because of his good posture.
Soon, the plate in front of the girl was piled high with tender white shrimp at.
"There, Cecilia, hurry up and eat."
Cecilia Vaughn was at a loss for words, watching how seriously and ticulously Adrian Law peeled the shrimp without minding the hassle, her heart softened inexplicably.

A phrase from her friend Mona Sumrs popped into her head.
—If in this world you et a man who willingly shells shrimp for you without boasting, he must truly love you.
At the ti, Cecilia Vaughn didn’t think much of it, but now experiencing it herself, she suddenly realized Mona Sumrs’ words had rit.

After finishing the hotpot, Cecilia Vaughn felt imnsely satisfied, and the pair prepared to head back to Starfall Bay, when suddenly heavy rain began to pour.
Since there was a departnt store nearby selling umbrellas, Adrian Law instructed Cecilia Vaughn to wait while he went to get one.
Cecilia Vaughn, standing in the heavy night, was feeling a bit bored when suddenly she heard a faint ow.
She paused, spotting a skinny white kitten, just skin and bones, darting past...
