The tro station was jam-packed with people, and Audrey Sutton, as if afraid that Shane Warner would get lost, kept holding onto his arm.

Even though they weren’t in a rush, probably influenced by the hurried pace of those around them, her legs were moving much faster than they usually did.

"Do you want to sit down? If you do, we can take the train back and grab a seat. If you can stand for a bit, we can just take this train." After she said this, she added, "It’s just five stops, it’ll only take a few minutes."

Audrey seed worried that a young master like him couldn’t handle standing in the tro and was earnestly waiting for his response.

Shane simply replied, "If you can stand, why can’t I?"

"Then let’s take this train. Hurry up and line up."

Although Shane had seen a scene like this online, experiencing it firsthand was indeed a first for him.

As the tro approached the station, she never let go of his arm.

Once inside the carriage, Shane realized there were far more people than he imagined, a dense crowd everywhere.

Audrey stood by the nearby door rail, holding onto it with an expression of sly triumph and smiled at him, "Holding onto the rail is steadier than the hanging rings, plus you can lean on it."

Shane chuckled lightly, not because her words were particularly humorous, but because seeing her smile made him feel good and he couldn’t help but smile back.

He was tall enough that even the rail above the hanging rings was within his reach, so he stood in front of her, using his arms to create a small space for her to avoid being jostled by others.

At each stop, Audrey would tell him what destinations were accessible from there.

Even though Shane knew these already, he didn’t interrupt her.

He just enjoyed listening to her chatter; it never felt annoying to him.

Five stops passed by very quickly.

So fast that he hadn’t had enough of the little girl’s rambling.

This stop was surrounded by office buildings, so most of the people getting off were office workers.

Now, at a bit past 2 PM, it wasn’t rush hour, so there weren’t many people, and Audrey’s pace slowed down.

She had her own tro card, and before reaching the exit, she told him, "You’ve got a one-ti ticket, so you’ll have to insert it into that slot."

She treated him like an old man who knew nothing.

Worried she hadn’t been clear enough, as they exited, she followed his hand and taught him step-by-step as he exited the turnstile.

Once they were outside the tro station, Shane couldn’t help but say, "Don’t assu my intelligence is on par with yours."

Audrey snorted, "I’ll have you know that all my exam results will be out next week, so you’d better practice complinting instead of teasing all the ti."

After exiting the station, the temperature suddenly dropped by several degrees.

Audrey stuffed her hands into her pockets, tucked her neck into her scarf.

Shane asked, "I heard in the group chat that your grandparents are coming over?"

"Yeah, they should arrive around lunchti tomorrow."

"Are you going to pick them up at the airport?"

Audrey shook her head, "I have a class in the morning; my fourth brother will pick them up. We don’t have to worry about it. If you’re free at noon, we can go ho together for lunch."

Shane nodded, "Call after class then."

Audrey didn’t expect him to be so busy yet still care about her grandparents.

Her heart felt even more convinced that this guy was really great. She hadn’t misjudged him all these years.

He indeed was a man worth trusting, but Audrey didn’t know if she was fortunate enough to entrust him with the rest of her life.

At the mont, their married life seed quite stable, but she always felt that his heart wasn’t with her, that things could change at any ti, leaving her sowhat uneasy.

She wasn’t worried about Shane falling for another woman because she knew he was soone without feelings, who liked and loved no one.

This ant she didn’t have to worry about him being taken away by soone else, but it also ant he could decide he didn’t want her anymore at any ti.

Although, for now, there was no sign of that.

But in ti, not only do feelings grow, so does annoyance, and if there’s no further progress, she was afraid Shane might neglect her.

On Wednesday, Audrey got her final course grade.

Even though she was confident about her grades long before, once she confird she hadn’t failed any courses, she imdiately ssaged Shane.

Even through text, where he couldn’t see her expression or hear her tone, Shane could sense the blatant boasting.

Imagining her smug face, Shane smiled at the phone screen and replied, "My little princess is amazing."

Audrey hadn’t expected such a reply from him; he seed quite aware of his promise to complint her.

But just the text wasn’t enough for her; she wanted him to complint her in person.

Thinking about it made Audrey so excited she couldn’t sleep at night.

She woke up before the alarm rang, but she didn’t get up nor go downstairs to make breakfast.

She was waiting for Shane to deliver on his "reward."

Soon, she heard noises outside, footsteps heading downstairs.

She opened the door, sneaked to the stairway, and peeked; he was indeed preparing breakfast.

She had worried he would go back on his word, but it seed he was indeed a man of integrity.

Relieved, Audrey returned to her room.

Like a bride awaiting her groom in a wedding dress, she was so excited she couldn’t sit still.

Twenty minutes later, she heard footsteps coming upstairs.

"Knock knock—" A knock resounded on the door.

She was actually just by the door, but she didn’t open it or make a sound.

She waited for Shane outside to call her, "Co down for breakfast."

Audrey couldn’t hold back and said, "You haven’t complinted yet."

Outside was quiet for two seconds, no sound.

She leaned close to the door to listen, worried he might have left, almost impatiently opening the door. Just as her hand reached for the doorknob, Shane’s voice sounded outside, "Sweetheart, breakfast is ready."

This ti, the "sweetheart" sounded genuine and not forced, her heart lted just hearing it, ripples spreading within her heart.

Feigning dissatisfaction, she said, "I told you to complint , not disgust ."

Shane: "Little fairy?"

Audrey: "Too tacky, no sincerity at all."

Shane: "You’re especially smart."

Audrey: "..."

Clearly, it was a complint, but why did it sound different coming from his mouth?
