The little speaker on her desk played her favorite music, a steaming cup of coffee sat nearby, and she held a pen sketching her manga characters on a drawing tablet.
When her mind wasn’t cluttered with all sorts of things, she found drawing to be very smooth and effortless.
After her manga was published, its adaptation into a film was also confird, and she had pretty much beco a small online sensation.
Crystal Wilson, who has been in the industry for five or six years, although her achievents seem on par with Audrey’s at the mont, always considered herself as Audrey’s senior, with much more experience and credentials than Audrey. So she wasn’t particularly happy for Audrey.
Seeing the increasing popularity of Audrey’s manga, Crystal naturally felt unbalanced inside.
Crystal frequently spread so unfounded rumors in the community, and Audrey wasn’t accusing her based on re guesses, she saw real chat screenshots from so other authors.
Crystal’s two-faced behavior wasn’t surprising to many peers, and Audrey had already witnessed Crystal’s fakeness, but since Crystal had never directly confronted her, Audrey didn’t really bother with these matters.

Audrey suddenly thought of Shane, then scrolled further down her feed, only stopping when she reached the sa post she had seen on her last scroll.
She didn’t see any lovey-dovey updates from Nolan Hawke.
Audrey wondered if guys just aren’t into sharing their relationship status on Monts?
Is it because they don’t have the habit of sharing, or because they simply don’t want others to know they have a girlfriend?
Anyway, she had never seen Shane show off his love on Monts; to be precise, she had never seen him post on Monts at all.
Out of curiosity, Audrey opened Nolan Hawke’s Monts to check. She discovered that, unlike Shane, who never updates his Monts, Nolan hadn’t set it to ’three days visible’, but most of the content was related to his work, filming promotions and such.
Occasionally, there were a few personal entries, talking about shooting on location here or there and posting so artistic quotes about the nice scenery.

As soon as Audrey closed Nolan Hawke’s Monts, he sent her a ssage.
Audrey was a bit startled, wondering if his Monts had so sort of special mysterious software that notified him of visitors.
She opened the chat window and saw Nolan’s ssage: "Miss Sutton, the photos taken yesterday have been retouched and sent to your email, you can have a look."
Audrey: Oh, okay, thanks.
Nolan: We should be the ones thanking you, and also, my friend wants to post them online, is that okay?"
Since Audrey wasn’t a full-ti model and hadn’t signed any contract with them, Nolan would always symbolically ask her before posting.
Audrey: Of course, you can.
Nolan: To express our gratitude, I’d like to invite the Third Young Master and Miss Sutton to a simple dinner tonight, would that be convenient for you both?
Audrey thought for a mont, she didn’t particularly want to attend such a not-so-familiar dinner, and Shane probably wouldn’t want to deal with it either, so she politely declined: Sorry, but my husband and I have other plans for tonight, and there’s really no need to be so formal, Boss Hawke. I was the one who wanted to take these artistic photos in the first place. Having such a good photography team shoot for free of charge, I should be the one thanking you, so let’s just consider this mutual help and no need for such formality.
Nolan didn’t persist with the invitation, just replied: Alright, I look forward to working with Miss Sutton again.
Audrey responded: I’m looking forward to it too.
Though she replied this way, Audrey knew there wouldn’t be a next ti.
Firstly, she was tired of shooting, secondly, Shane was difficult to manage.
Agreeing once doesn’t an he’d agree a second ti; she couldn’t overstep the bounds.
Thinking about Shane, Audrey’s thoughts drifted towards him.

Putting down her phone, she sat up from the carpet and tiptoed to the study door, raising her hand to knock but didn’t hear any response inside.
She glanced into his bedroom, the bed was neatly made, no sign of him.
Audrey went straight downstairs and only then heard the knocking sounds from outside, like nails being hamred.
Following the sound, she went outside and saw Shane squatting in the yard, assembling wooden planks with nails in his hand.
"What are you making?"
He turned to glance at her and replied, "A doghouse."
"Isn’t the doghouse inside still good? Are you planning on getting another dog?"
Shane looked down, asuring the wooden planks with a tape, appearing to calculate the dinsions seriously, without answering Audrey.
Audrey mumbled, "It doesn’t cost much to buy a doghouse, why bother to make one?"
"Don’t distract , go back inside and draw your pictures."
Audrey pouted, feeling he cared more about General than her.
She muttered, "I’d like to see if you can build a luxury villa!"
Saying that, she took General, who was lying nearby, and walked back inside, deliberately sighing exaggeratedly, "Humans are not as good as dogs~"
