Now reading: Chapter 294: Sister-in-Law Is Crying from Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!, a Romance novel by The Beginning of Prosperity.

"Hey, gentlen, we can talk this over. Whether you’re kidnapping or carrying out soone else’s orders, it’s all about money, right? My family has money, and my husband has loads of it! Na your price, how about that?" Audrey Sutton tried to negotiate, but to no avail as no one responded.

Money didn’t seem to entice this group. Could they be after her life?

Audrey Sutton was extrely nervous, but she couldn’t just sit there and do nothing.

If money wasn’t the way to go, then she’d appeal to their humanity.

"Well, just because I’m Shane Warner’s wife doesn’t an my life is glamorous. Actually, I’m living a miserable life. If you’re kidnapping to extort Shane Warner, that bastard, then you’re likely going to be disappointed..."

"Pfft—"

Before Audrey Sutton finished her sentence, she heard a chuckle inside the car, not very clear but at least a reaction.

Thinking this approach seed effective, Audrey Sutton continued, "That bastard Shane Warner would love nothing more than for to die. He’s got mistresses all over the place; my death would make room for those foxy little vixens. So if you plan to threaten him with , he might just hang up as soon as you call."

"Besides, when he really cos over later, you can kill him first then . No, wait, can you just kill him and spare ? He’s done so many bad things, dying would be too easy for him. But I’m innocent, just stuck in a bad marriage. If I die because of a scumbag, my life would be so unfortunate. Plus, if he dies, I can inherit his estate; then I could share so of it with you, okay?"

Audrey Sutton almost persuaded herself with her own words. Shane Warner’s estate, a fortune that would last lifetis!

What kind of monsters were they? Such tempting conditions and yet unmoved?

Of course, she didn’t actually want Shane Warner’s estate, just unclear of these people’s intentions, fearing they might kill her halfway through. Saying this might at least buy so ti, increase her chances of survival.

She rembered she was talking to Faye Xavier on the phone when she was kidnapped, and Faye said she saw her, so Faye must have seen her getting taken. By now, Faye must have inford Shane Warner who is searching for her everywhere.

...

In the restaurant, Shane Warner raised his wristwatch to check the ti, then looked out the window. People ca and went on the street, but no sign of Audrey Sutton.

It’s been half an hour since he received her departure ssage, she should have been here by now.

He dialed Audrey Sutton’s phone again, still turned off.

Shane Warner was flipping through her friend’s phone numbers, ready to call and inquire; suddenly he received a text from an unfamiliar number: Coldharbor Pier, co alone, call the police and prepare to collect the corpse.

Below was a photo of Audrey Sutton tied up.

Shane Warner’s brows tightened, getting up instantly after picking up the jacket on the chair.

Heading to the car, he sent the number that texted him to Faye Xavier, asking him to investigate the number’s information.

No sooner had he heard back from Faye, Shane Warner was already driving toward the pier.

Inside the van.

Audrey Sutton had talked herself dry, yet no one responded.

But they didn’t seem to mind her talking too much and still didn’t gag her.

"I know you guys are going through difficulties leading you down this path. Is it that your wife or children are sick and you can’t afford treatnt? Or that your parents don’t have money for retirent? I can help you!"

"Think it over carefully, killing does you no good. Even if you get the money, you can’t escape the law’s sanction. If you spare , whatever difficulty you’re facing, I’ll help you solve it. I promise I won’t call the police, you can take the money ho and enjoy good tis with your loved ones. That’s the future you should have. Don’t let one death ruin many families that should be happy."

Audrey Sutton felt like she could give a lecture on this, but she didn’t know if these people were deaf or mute, none of them responded to her.

The car bumped a couple of tis, Audrey Sutton couldn’t grab onto anything stable, her head jerked and hit the car window.

"Ouch—" Audrey Sutton cried out in pain.

Imdiately she felt soone grab her arm, stabilizing her as if to protect her.

Next, there was a loud "smack" sound at her ear; like a slap landed sowhere, but the pain didn’t hit her, unclear who got hit.

Still no voice heard, the car gradually stopped.

The door opened, and wind poured in.

She seed to be at a wide-open place, the wind strong enough.

"Hey, where are we going?" Audrey Sutton was cautiously led forward, unsure of what awaited her.

She feared the mont the cloth covering her eyes was lifted, she’d see Clarissa Morgan.

If this was all planned by Clarissa Morgan, it certainly wasn’t just for money.

At best, ruining her reputation; at worst, costing her life.

She imagined Clarissa Morgan capable of anything.

The car drove for a long ti, the place sounded quiet, seemingly remote.

Even if Shane Warner realized she was missing, could he find her way here?

Audrey Sutton felt dood.

All along she was extra cautious, never imagining criminals would be so bold, snatching people off the street.

The light changed in front of her, as if entering indoors.

It was eerie and damp; the sound of tal clashing sent goosebumps over Audrey Sutton.

Terrified, her thoughts scattered, throat tight, unable to speak.

"Sit down."

The first words she heard since the ride, spoken by a man.

She obediently followed, the chair seed tal too, the coldness felt through her skirt.

"...Please let go, I’m begging you."

Her voice was clearly not as calm as in the van, laced with sobs, trembling with fear.

Chaotic footsteps spawned, interspersed with tal sounds; they seed to be preparing for sothing.

Audrey Sutton swallowed hard, anxious, a little hopeless inside.

Her marriage with Shane Warner just hit its stride, happiness was getting closer; was heaven playing a joke on her?

Her family, if sothing happened to her, they would be really upset, right?

Thinking of this, Audrey Sutton’s tears couldn’t help but fall.

The man standing by looked at her crying, hesitated, then hurried toward the outside, softly saying, "Brother Faye, sister-in-law is crying; maybe we’re going too far?"

Faye Xavier, smoking, was taken aback, his eyes flustered: "She’s crying? Quick, find a way to console her! If Master Shane sees her crying, what do we do?"
