Shane Warner noticed a bit of emotion from Audrey Sutton, and chuckled as he said, "Do you not trust your husband?"

Audrey Sutton drank half a glass of water before responding, "It’s not that I don’t trust you, I don’t trust those people. If we don’t catch them, they’re bound to commit cris again! I made it back safely this ti, but what if there’s a next ti? You’re always telling to be careful, but I can’t live the rest of my life constantly worried, can I? They blatantly dragged away on the street! So audacious! I was talking to Brother Xavier on the phone at the ti, and he probably saw getting kidnapped. If he hadn’t noticed in ti, you certainly wouldn’t have found so quickly; might have been too late, and you’d be collecting my corpse!"

Seeing Audrey Sutton getting a bit worked up, Shane Warner took the water glass from her hand, gently caressing her back as he said, "Do you think I’d let them off the hook easily for daring to touch you? They’ve been taught a lesson, and they wouldn’t dare target you anymore."

Audrey Sutton looked at him skeptically, feeling like he was covering sothing up, so she asked, "Then why did they kidnap ? Did you find out who instructed them?"

She didn’t have any evidence linking this incident to Clarissa Morgan, it was rely her own inner suspicion, so she didn’t dare explicitly voice her baseless suspicion to Shane Warner for fear he’d think she was narrow-minded, always pushing bla onto Clarissa Morgan.

Shane Warner fabricated a reason on the spot to cover for Faye Xavier and the others, "A misunderstanding with a few brothers on the street, it’s all been cleared up."

Listening to his vague response, Audrey Sutton couldn’t fully believe his explanation.

Shane Warner noticed the IV fluid was about to finish running through the tube, so he closed the IV valve and pressed the call button to bring the nurse.

Then the doctor ca to check Audrey Sutton’s physical condition.

The fainting was solely due to hunger-induced hypoglycemia. Rest and the IV drip had sowhat restored Audrey Sutton’s energy, and she was directly discharged from the hospital.

She seed still not over the kidnapping incident, remaining silent while sitting in the car.

Shane Warner purposely took a detour to drive to her favorite milk tea shop opposite Starfield, taking her to buy milk tea.

Usually, when she’s unhappy, a cup of milk tea solves about eighty to ninety percent of the problems.

She appeared unwilling as she walked into the milk tea shop. Upon hearing the staff introduce new milk tea flavors, she started interacting with them, likely feeling hungry as she ordered snacks along with the milk tea.

Shane Warner had brought her there solely to cheer her up, so he didn’t stop her from ordering anything to eat and sat across from her, accompanying her.

Audrey Sutton didn’t really know what was bothering her, just feeling sowhat unsettled inside.

Regarding the kidnapping, she felt Shane Warner was hiding sothing from her. She’s torn between wanting to ask her second brother for help to get the facts straight, but also afraid that once the kidnapping incident was known by her family, they’d worry.

When she left the milk tea shop, it was past three in the afternoon, missing her afternoon class, but Audrey Sutton had no intention to return to school for class.

Shane Warner drove ho, Audrey Sutton noticed so people cleaning the swimming pool in front of the house.

She hadn’t been ho for several days, upon entering she found the interior had changed.

She froze at the door, seeing the changes inside the house. There weren’t major alterations, just so furniture was rearranged, and a white piano was added to the corner of the living room.

Shane Warner, while taking slippers for her from the shoe cabinet, said, "Got soone to refurnish the place over the past couple of days."

Audrey Sutton reached for the slippers, bent down to put them on, and walked straight toward the piano, turning her head to ask him, "Why buy a piano?"

Shane Warner smiled and said, "In case the child wants to learn the piano in the future?"

Hearing him ntion a child, Audrey Sutton gave him a playful glare and muttered, "Where’s the child when we’re not even close to having one?"

"If we want one, we’ll have one." He ca over, encircling her waist, "Let’s go upstairs and have a look."

"The upstairs changed too?"

"Hmm."

The house’s changes temporarily made Audrey Sutton forget her inner gloom, curiously going upstairs, she found the originally separated two bedrooms now connected, leaving only one door.

Entering through the door, the two rooms combined to create a naturally large space. This end had a long desk, large enough for both of them to use.

Beside it was a slightly lower small table, obviously for a child.

On the other side of the room was a large bed, next to it stood a crib. The window seat was left for her since she frequently liked to sit there to draw.

The tatami by the window was covered with many children’s toys. Seeing all these children’s items in the room, Audrey Sutton’s cheeks reddened as she playfully glared at him, mumbling, "Where’s the baby bump; why buy all these things?"

"They’ll be needed eventually."

"Just buy them when the ti cos, this crib isn’t cute at all, you should’ve consulted before buying."

"If you don’t like it, we’ll replace it."

"You’ve got money to burn, don’t you? Once there’s a child, there’ll be plenty of places to spend money, you should learn to be frugal."

Shane Warner smiled and compliantly answered, "Alright, we’ll be frugal in the future."

Overall, the renovations made Audrey Sutton particularly satisfied; it was pretty much her ideal vision.

Perhaps because her work relates to drawings and paintings, the design of the workspace was filled with subtle details that truly delighted Audrey Sutton’s heart.

The weather was nice today, sunlight filtered in through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, with the breeze gently swaying the curtains. With the windows open, the sound of trickling water from outside could faintly be heard.

The heaviness in her heart dissipated quite a bit.

Audrey Sutton lounged back, lazily lying on the large bed as she asked him, "Do you have anything to work on this afternoon?"

"Whether I do or not is flexible. If you want to keep you company, then I won’t go anywhere."

"Why are you being so slick now?"

"Sounds like you prefer scolding you?"

Audrey Sutton pouted, lazily moved her body, and burrowed into the blanket, "I want to take a nap, you can go back to work if you have things to do."

Shane Warner nodded, "Sleep. I’ll work right here."

Audrey Sutton hugged the blanket, watching him walk over to the desk by the window, sit down, and open the laptop.

She said she wanted to sleep, but it was just an excuse. Seeing him start focusing on the computer, Audrey Sutton took out her phone to ssage Faye Xavier: Brother Xavier, has the kidnapper been caught?

Since Shane Warner wouldn’t tell her, she decided to ask elsewhere.

Faye Xavier received this ssage just as he walked into the company elevator from the underground parking lot.

Seeing Audrey Sutton ask this way, Faye Xavier thought Shane Warner had told her everything.

But rembering how his little sister-in-law wasn’t that manipulative, if she knew he did it, she certainly wouldn’t ask him in this manner, so Faye Xavier replied: Don’t worry, Master Shane is taking care of it.
