The night was already short, and soon the sky lit up.

Audrey Sutton only prepared food for General and Pea, then directly headed to school.

She looked calm, but her swollen eyes betrayed her.

Upon seeing her, the first thing Phoebe King asked, who had grabbed a good seat in the classroom, was: "What’s up with those puffy little eyes? Did you two have a fight last night?"

Audrey looked at Phoebe King and asked her: "Sister Phoebe, have you been in touch with him lately?"

"Who? Your husband?" Phoebe King glanced at Audrey with a puzzled expression and replied, "I’ve been staying at school lately, mostly in touch with Big and Little Mor, and, indeed, haven’t contacted Shane for so ti. Why?"

Audrey seed to recall sothing upsetting, and her eyes welled up again. In the classroom, surrounded by classmates, she tried to control her emotions, saying: "...I’m probably getting a divorce from him."

Upon hearing this, Phoebe King chuckled and said: "You two getting a divorce? A little argunt and fight, and it’s all fine once the anger subsides. I would believe the sun could rise from the west rather than believe you could get divorced. Alright, I’ll call Shane later and have a good talk with him."

"...This ti it’s different."

"Does he have soone else outside?"

Audrey shook her head, "I don’t know."

She didn’t feel Shane Warner beca this way because of another woman; she thought perhaps he just grew tired.

Previously, when he saw her angry or unhappy, he would patiently coax her, let alone when he saw her shedding tears.

But last night, he left so heartlessly that she felt he might never return to her side.

Audrey went through the class in a daze, and during the break, Phoebe King called Shane Warner, but was prompted with the phone being off. Perhaps he’s still on the plane?

Audrey didn’t rest well last night, coupled with her mood affecting her, causing her to feel dizzy. Being her big brother’s class, she didn’t ask for leave and endured two sessions.

Stephen Sutton also noticed Audrey’s unusual state in the class, and after school, he asked Audrey: "Are you feeling sick?"

Saying this, he checked Audrey’s forehead with his hand, noticing a slight feverish warmth.

Audrey didn’t push herself, honestly telling Stephen Sutton: "I feel a bit dizzy. Big brother, can you drive ho first?"

"Want to go to the hospital?"

Audrey shook her head: "Maybe I just didn’t rest well. I’ll be fine after sleeping it off."

Seeing her looking so listless in the car, Stephen Sutton dropped the idea of taking her to a restaurant for a al.

Seeing her low spirits, he only assud she was physically unwell, not realizing she had a conflict with Shane Warner.

On the way back, passing a pharmacy, Stephen Sutton still stopped to get her so cold dicine, only leaving after bringing her ho.

Audrey felt foggy-headed and lacked the energy for aimless thinking, quickly falling into a deep sleep wrapped in her blanket.

Upon waking, it was already dark outside.

She sat blankly on the bed, staring into the dark sky outside the window.

After sleeping, she felt much better, albeit a bit dehydrated and famished.

She picked up the thermos cup by the bed, opened the lid, only to find it empty.

Letting out a sigh, she picked up her phone charging by the bedside to check.

There were several WhatsApp ssages, but after glancing, she found none were from him.

Looking at the ti at the top of her phone screen, it was past seven.

Over ten hours had passed since he left; the plane should have landed, indicating he wasn’t worried about her at all.

Indeed, he left without a backward glance; how could he possibly be worried about her?

Recalling the earlier days felt like rely having a sweet dream.

And now, the dream had ended.

"ow~" Pea’s voice outside the door pulled Audrey out of her thoughts.

Throwing off the blanket, she got out of bed, grabbed her phone and water cup, and headed downstairs.

Pea kept staying by her feet, following her downstairs.

Audrey filled a cup of water, sat on the sofa, and replied to the concerned ssages Stephen Sutton and Phoebe King sent.

The dorm sisters were still unaware of her situation these past days. Seeing Flora Lane complain in the group about her current boyfriend, saying he’s a mama’s boy with no own opinion, unbearable for her, Flora Lane said she might not plan to continue being with him.

Audrey just read their chat without chiming in, considering her own ssy relationship.

In the evening, not in the mood to cook, she lazily lay on the sofa ordering takeout.

Then played a favorite show on TV to distract herself as much as possible from thinking about him.

Having slept the afternoon, she couldn’t fall asleep at night, seeing past three, ordering takeout again, BBQ, beer alongside a new show, making the night pass by quite comfortably.

The next day, she also took sick leave, claiming illness; it’s only two days till sumr vacation, Seraphina Vaughn had already gone ho, and the family was preparing for a desert vacation.

Audrey, seeing past ten in the morning, fell asleep directly on the sofa.

The coffee table was ssy, covered with takeout boxes, BBQ skewers, and beer bottles.

She intended to wake up naturally but was startled by a call from a delivery person around one.

The wedding dress she ordered arrived.

Audrey took the delivery inside, opened the bag containing the wedding dress, and laid it in front of herself, comparing it in front of the mirror.

Tears welled up uncontrollably again, she tightly compressed her lips, took a deep breath, and stuffed the wedding dress haphazardly into the wardrobe.

Descending the stairs, she looked at the chaotic state in the living room; she stared at it for a while but didn’t clean it.

Heading to the garden outside, sitting on the swing, she gently swayed back and forth.

The sunshine was lovely today, neither too cold nor too hot, the blowing wind carried a hint of warmth.

Soon, General and Pea ca running out, playing around.

Audrey pulled up a forced smile, slightly strained.

She really wanted to reach out to him, thinking if she actively contacted him, would things be fine like before once they talked it through.

But in her heart, she wanted to hold her ground, thinking if he truly loved her, why couldn’t he take the initiative to reach out to her once?

Besides, she already took the initiative in the past.

Now she didn’t dare open his WhatsApp chat page; a whole page full of conversation boxes with her seemingly talking to herself, making her feel uncomfortable to look at.

They still had couple avatars, the photo she took before of General and Pea; now looking at these two avatars, her heart ached.

She even wondered if it was like the April Fools’ Day kidnapping before? Was he doing this on purpose and planning so surprise for her?

Such naive thoughts made Audrey herself feel sowhat laughable.

In the afternoon, Flora Lane posted a line in the group: Broken up, freed.

Seraphina Vaughn: Broken up?

Barry Barrett: So where’s the party tonight?

Flora Lane: Invite Audrey out, let’s watch a movie and have a grand al, for celebration.

Audrey Sutton: Alright, where to?
