Early the next morning, Audrey Sutton surprisingly woke up early, or rather, she hardly slept at all.
Thinking about Shane coming to propose today, she felt both excited and nervous, with a touch of worry.
She was worried Shane might not co.
The ceremony yesterday, apart from achieving publicity effects, did not have any solid procedures. She felt that only getting the marriage certificate would make things reliable.
"Up so early today."
Audrey called out to Evan Sutton, who was dressed in a suit changing his shoes at the entrance, "Fifth brother, where are you going so early?"
Evan’s voice was calm and gentle, "There’s an urgent matter at the hospital."
"Oh, then drive safely."
Evan smiled warmly, walked out two steps, then stopped and turned back to Audrey, saying, "Think carefully about your lifelong decisions. Don’t act childish on this matter."
Audrey nodded obediently, "I understand." and then happily waved goodbye to her fifth brother.
Out of all her brothers, she had the best relationship with her fifth brother because Evan was gentle and emotionally intelligent and never hurt her. He did not talk much, but he was always there for Audrey, especially when she wanted pocket money.
The family gradually woke up, and Audrey noticed that because of her matter, everyone seed to not have slept well.
After breakfast, the brothers were not in a hurry to go to work, except for her fifth brother who had gone out earlier and the third brother who was on a business trip abroad. The others all sat around the sofa, waiting for Shane’s arrival.
Audrey was worried this formation might scare him.
At eight o’clock, right on ti, a black Rolls-Royce stopped outside the house.
Hazel Yates led Audrey to the door to greet him. Although this marriage proposal was sudden, in terms of hospitality, Hazel was still very graceful and generous.
Audrey eagerly watched as the car door of the driver’s seat opened, first seeing a shiny black shoe, and then the long, strong legs wrapped in black suit pants stepped out of the car.
Today, he was still in a suit, looking impressive with an innate majestic aura, attracting attention wherever he went.
Audrey wanted to take a closer look out of shyness, and yet, when glancing away, felt unwilling.
"Hello, Auntie." He walked over, slightly smiling, greeting Hazel Yates and then his gaze fell on Audrey.
At the mont their eyes t, Audrey felt like she was shocked by electricity, quickly blushing and lowering her head, then regretting internally for being so timid.
"Please co in and have a seat. Have you had breakfast? We have extra prepared; make use of it if you haven’t eaten."
"We’ve eaten, we’ve eaten, no need to trouble yourself, in-laws."
The three elders walked ahead, with Audrey and Shane following side by side.
He did not show a trace of nervousness or awkwardness from beginning to end.
In contrast, Audrey felt more restrained. He seed as natural as if he were at his own ho.
Earlier, Samuel Sutton had been murmuring, mocking Shane with criticisms, sotis saying Shane was overly scheming in business, sotis saying he was too old.
Now that he was here, Samuel still put on an elder’s deanor, smiling and inviting Shane to sit freely.
The brothers sat in a row like police interrogating a suspect, arms crossed, all with expressionless faces scrutinizing Shane.
No matter how much Audrey gestured to them, it was useless.
Although they had all heard of Shane or even interacted with him in business, it wasn’t easy to take away their precious little sister.
"These are all Little Audrey’s brothers. When they heard about the marriage, they couldn’t believe it—it was too sudden." Hazel Yates introduced with a smile.
Helen Holloway laughed, "I’ve heard that each of The Suttons’ sons is exceptionally talented."
"What kind of work is Shane mainly involved in now?" Samuel Sutton asked.
"Our Shane..."
"Your Shane is such a big man already; can’t he speak for himself?" Helen Holloway’s words were interrupted by the irreverent Norman Sutton, always impudent.
Audrey imdiately glared at him, and Hazel Yates also called out, "Little Norman, don’t be rude."
Helen Holloway smiled generously, "No problem, he’s just a child."
Norman Sutton shrugged indifferently and continued to twiddle with the Rubik’s cube in his hand.
Shane smiled lightly and said, "I currently run a jewelry company and am preparing for its listing."
Samuel Sutton: "Your own startup? That’s good. Then who manages the Warner family’s business?"
Shane Warner: "I haven’t been too involved at the mont."
Wallace Warner said, "The old man hasn’t fully handed it over yet. Shane is busy with the company’s public listing, so we haven’t let him worry too much about the Warner family affairs for now."
Hazel Yates said, "We don’t seek anything from the Warner family. We just hope Audrey can have a good life after marrying over."
Helen Holloway smiled and said, "Rest assured, Shane is very good at taking care of people and will definitely treat Audrey well. I will treat Audrey as my own daughter."
Audrey glanced at Shane sitting beside her. His expression was so proper and formal, not revealing much personal emotion.
The more masked with mystery, the more intriguing it becos, and the more intriguing, the greater the desire to explore.
