Audrey Sutton glared at him angrily, and Shane Warner chuckled, reaching out to pinch her cheek, "Your chubby cheeks are quite cute."
Audrey Sutton slapped his hand away, "Annoying."
"It’s rare to get out, cheer up, why be so grumpy?"
"You know it’s rare for to get out yet you still try to annoy on purpose? I think you’re doing it intentionally."
Shane Warner smiled and said, "I can’t calm you enough to make you happy, how could I annoy you on purpose?"
Audrey Sutton "humd" in response, but as she turned to look out the window, a faint smile started to surface at the corner of her mouth.
The car drove along the coastal highway, Audrey Sutton rolled down the window, looking at the blue sea outside. The warm sea breeze blew on her face, carrying a faint floral fragrance, and light-hearted country music was playing inside the car. Her mood unconsciously beca relaxed.
"Is Mr. Bishop still around here?"
Shane Warner glanced at her and then focused back on the road in front of them, saying lightly, "Are you concerned about him but not ?"
Audrey Sutton glanced at him, "I think you’ve been having quite a good ti these days, what’s there to be concerned about?"
Shane Warner: "I’m used to your cooking, the food outside doesn’t suit my taste, and my stomach problems have flared up these past few days."
Audrey Sutton’s first reaction was a pang of sympathy, followed by saying to him, "You’re trying to pull that trick on , playing the sympathy card?"
Shane Warner sighed, "Do you believe anything I say anymore?"
Audrey Sutton looked at him, pouted but said nothing.
The car pulled to a stop at the shopping street, Audrey Sutton realized they had arrived at their destination, unbuckled her seatbelt, and got out of the car with the small parasol beside her leg.
The street was shaded by big trees, making it cool under their shade, and it wasn’t really that hot.
Shane Warner parked the car and walked over to Audrey Sutton’s side, "Where do we start shopping?"
Audrey Sutton glanced around; she hadn’t been shopping here for a long ti and wasn’t too familiar with the area. But she imdiately zeroed in on a milk tea shop across the square, "I want to buy a cup of milk tea first."
During the period she’s been confined at ho, she’s been craving things like crazy, wanting to have a piece of everything she saw.
Shane Warner: "Mom reminded not to let you eat indiscriminately before she left."
"She just said not to let have cold things. I’m buying a hot one, alright?"
Shane Warner looked down at her full of anticipation, and silently compromised, "Okay, let’s go."
Once he agreed, she imdiately jogged over to the milk tea shop with her umbrella.
Watching her bouncing around, Shane Warner couldn’t help but smile, taking long strides as he followed her leisurely.
Since they left the house close to eleven, they hadn’t been shopping for long before Shane Warner found a Cantonese restaurant with light flavors and took her there to eat first.
She picked all the dishes, but she didn’t just go by her preferences.
She still kept Shane Warner’s tastes in mind, genuinely worried if he hadn’t been eating well these days, which could have triggered his stomach problems.
Closing the nu, Audrey Sutton bit the straw and took a sip of the juice in front of her, asking him, "Do you think that white dress I tried on just now looks good?"
Shane Warner: "Which one?"
Audrey Sutton: "The last one I tried on."
Shane Warner: "It’s too short, not good."
Audrey Sutton frowned, "What’s the relationship between length and whether it looks good or not? I think the style is quite nice, I want to go back and buy it after we finish eating."
Shane Warner: "We’ve got the whole afternoon to shop, why rush? You might still find a prettier one later."
Audrey Sutton: "Then I’ll buy them both, anyway I like that one."
She just wanted to change Shane Warner’s habit; any length above the knees seed unacceptable to him, so he specifically chose ones that were ankle-length.
"Go ahead, buy it if you like it."
Audrey Sutton paused her drinking action, looking at him curiously.
He actually compromised so easily this ti?
In the past, if he said no, then it was no; she had always listened to him.
Audrey Sutton didn’t dwell on it, thinking, maybe over this month’s ti, he also reflected on his issues, and thus began gradually accommodating her preferences.
"I also want to buy a swimsuit, I want to go to the beach."
Shane Warner nodded, "Sure, go wherever you want, I’ll accompany you."
Audrey Sutton stared at him for several seconds, couldn’t help but say, "You’ve beco strange, different from before."
"Really?"
Audrey Sutton: "Are you trying to placate now, bring back and then revert to your old ways once I’m back?"
Shane Warner: "Didn’t you tell you didn’t know what it felt like to be loved? I promised to start loving you, now and in the future."
Audrey Sutton felt a sweet warmth inside, but she responded, "Slick talker, love isn’t about words."
Shane Warner: "Yet you always used to push to say it?"
Audrey Sutton frowned, "Can you stop twisting words?"
Shane Warner chuckled, "You’re really hard to please."
Audrey Sutton: "Then don’t try to please !"
Shane Warner: "I like the challenge."
Audrey Sutton "humd," smiling as she sipped her juice with the straw.
The small snacks were served, and Audrey Sutton picked one with chopsticks and placed it in her mouth, glanced at him, asking, "... You still haven’t told why you ignored those few days."
Shane Warner was silent for a mont, then smiled and said, "It’s all in the past, let’s not bring up past events."
"No! You have to give a reasonable explanation."
Shane Warner smiled, evasively joking with her, "What kind of explanation would be considered reasonable?"
Audrey Sutton didn’t want to beat around the bush, directly asked, "Did you find out about sothing?"
Audrey Sutton was guessing; the content she saw on the USB might also have been seen by Shane Warner, which explained his abnormal behavior those days.
However, she wasn’t sure if it was really related to the USB, feeling conflicted inside about whether to tell him everything. She wondered if he could handle the matter involving his brother calmly.
Shane Warner leisurely picked up the teacup beside him and took a sip, instead of answering, he asked back, "Do you have sothing to hide from ?"
Audrey Sutton froze upon hearing his question, it seed he indeed found out sothing.
She felt she had already lost him once because she had resolved to divorce him.
So, after experiencing this month, her state of mind changed a lot.
Things she previously feared to talk to him about, now seed like she could openly discuss everything with him.
If he truly refused to forgive The Suttons because of hatred, then perhaps they were never ant to be.
Audrey Sutton put down her chopsticks, picked up a wet tissue to wipe her mouth, "I do have sothing to hide from you, I can tell you everything, but you must listen calmly and rationally to finish."
