Clarissa Morgan buried herself in Quentin Sterling’s embrace, crying so hard she could barely speak. Her tears soaked Quentin’s chest and pained his heart.

He cupped Clarissa’s face in his hands, gently wiping her tears as he said, "With this strong wind, why did you co running here? I’ve been looking everywhere for you."

Clarissa cried until her eyes were red, raised her head to look at Quentin, then pushed him away with a choked voice, "Quentin, I really can’t believe all of this is real..."

Quentin furrowed his brows, took off his coat and draped it over Clarissa, sat down with her on a bench, and said, "Why won’t you give a chance to explain? Do you really not believe ?"

Clarissa: "I don’t want to believe any of this, but I saw it with my own eyes. What am I supposed to do? Huh?"

Quentin: "I didn’t expect Vanessa to do this; she must have drugged and planned all of this. At that ti, I truly knew nothing, Clarissa. You know the person I love is only you. Vanessa is considered my junior, how could I have romantic feelings for her?"

Clarissa hung her head, raised her hand to wipe her tears, and looked at him saying, "Vanessa usually is so well-behaved and timid, how could she be the one who drugged you?"

Quentin: "I didn’t expect her to have this side either. I don’t know why she would do this, but regardless, I was truly unaware of this incident."

Clarissa took a deep breath, wiped her face vigorously, and looked at Quentin with determination saying, "Quentin, I’ve been sitting here alone thinking a lot... I think we should divorce."

Quentin’s expression froze, he looked at Clarissa puzzled, "Divorce? Clarissa, I told you I was frad this ti, and nothing actually happened between her and ..."

"Let finish," Clarissa interrupted Quentin, "I’m not blaming you, and I believe you wouldn’t do such a thing. I just feel that now, I am no longer pure. When you said you didn’t mind, I was very grateful. I’ve always felt unworthy of you. I think if I leave you, perhaps you can have a better life."

"Clarissa, what are you talking about?"

"Quentin, this is my own decision. Even if you don’t care, I can’t overco this hurdle myself. Especially now after what’s happened. My mind is truly a ss. I just want a simple life as a dance teacher, without getting involved in your family’s complex entanglents. Just let go, please. I really don’t want to worry about these things anymore. Being with you is so pressure-filled."

Quentin looked at her with concern, "Clarissa, if you don’t want it, I will never let anything from The Sterling family bother you in the future. I also promise such a thing will never happen again. I won’t take her side just because she is my junior, and I will never condone her actions..."

"Stop saying that... Too many things have happened recently. Every night now I have to take sleeping pills to fall asleep, you know? Quentin, if you truly love , just let go first. Let’s both calm down; if fate allows it in the future and neither of us has married again, we can reconsider getting back together, okay?"

Quentin looked at Clarissa with a complicated feeling. He naturally didn’t want to divorce, but hearing her sleepless nights due to these matters, he couldn’t bear to see her suffer any longer.

But the idea of divorce was sothing he had never considered—it felt too sudden to him.

"Quentin, I’m sorry... I’m really tired. I just want a peaceful, stable life for now."

Quentin sighed deeply and said, "Okay, I promise you. I won’t marry anyone else. I will wait for your return."

Clarissa looked at him with tears in her eyes, showing a struggle and reluctance to part yet she felt she had no choice.

Quentin looked at her pained expression, "Actually, I wanted to face everything with you. I didn’t expect myself to beco a burden in your heart. I’m sorry, Clarissa."

"I’m the one who should apologize. I don’t deserve to be with you right now."

"Clarissa, I said I don’t care about those things. My place will always be reserved for you. As long as you’re willing to return, it will always be yours."

Quentin took her hand and helped her stand, "It’s getting late. Let take you back to rest first."

Clarissa: "I... I’ll find a hotel nearby to stay. I’ll have soone move my things in a couple of days, and after the weekend, we’ll go sort out the docunts, okay?"

She withdrew her hand from his palm, leaving Quentin feeling a chill in his hand, as if his heart felt empty. He stood rooted to the spot, watching her gradually walk away, and murmured to himself, "Alright..."

...

In the middle of the night, rain began to fall outside.

Audrey Sutton was awakened by the urge to pee, climbed out of bed, and went to the bathroom.

When she ca out, she saw Shane Warner already up and finding clothes beside the wardrobe.

Audrey rubbed her tired eyes and yawned, "What ti is it? Are you leaving so early?"

Shane: "The earlier I leave, the sooner I’ll be back."

Audrey chuckled, "Don’t forget the promise you made to earlier. We haven’t worn that matching couple’s outfit. Once you’re done, you better make ti to accompany to the school for classes."

Shane snorted with a laugh, reached out to pinch her chubby cheek, and said, "Don’t forget your promise to either, once I’m back from my trip, take good care of ."

Audrey pouted and glared at him, "All you think about are these things every day."

Shane took off his pajamas and unabashedly changed his clothes in front of Audrey, saying, "I have a few films, do you want to take them as a reference for learning?"

Audrey: "What films?"

Shane: "The kind you like."

Realizing what he ant, Audrey’s eyes widened and she pointed at him, "Oh, Shane Warner, you’ve been watching inappropriate stuff behind my back, right?"

Shane unabashedly laughed and said, "We’re not kids anymore."

Audrey questioned him, "Where did you get them?"

Shane: "Morgan Quinn gave them to ."

Audrey furrowed her brows, "Why is he giving you these things?"

Shane fastened the buttons of his shirt, his face not betraying any discomfort, "He said he brought them back from a business trip to Japan as Japanese specialties."

Audrey: "When the upper beam is not straight, the lower beam is crooked. There’s no decent person in your company, stop mixing with them!"

Shane: "Co help pick a tie."

Audrey grumbled, "No matter how well you dress, it doesn’t hide your mind full of dirty thoughts."

While speaking, Audrey walked to the wardrobe, took out a tie—not because it matched his shirt or suit, but simply because she had just bought it for him.
