The hallway outside the hospital room.
After Hazel Yates relayed Audrey Sutton’s situation to the doctor, the doctor seed to think her condition was a bit tricky and said, "Generally, there shouldn’t be any mory loss, but there’s also the possibility of temporary amnesia. Maybe she’ll rember in a few days."
Hazel Yates hurriedly asked, "But she rembers everyone else, except her husband."
"mory can be segnted sotis. She might rember things from the past, but the mories from after her marriage might be missing."
Shane thought for a mont and asked, "Is there any way to help her recover?"
Doctor: "Well... we can observe for now. Generally, it takes three to five days to return to normal, or we could stimulate her mory through recreating scenarios."
Just as the doctor finished speaking, Audrey Sutton’s voice ca from the hospital room: "Mom, when can I be discharged?"
The doctor heard her and imdiately smiled, saying, "Miss Sutton’s physical condition is stable now. You can handle the discharge procedures soon, and as for her mory, she should co back for a follow-up in three days."
...
After discharge, Shane drove the mother and daughter to the restaurant Samuel Sutton had reserved.
After Audrey Sutton sat down, she saw Shane pulling out the chair next to her and about to sit. She blocked the chair and asked Samuel Sutton, "Dad, since when do our family drivers dine at the table with us?"
Family driver?
Shane: "???"
Hazel Yates awkwardly smiled at Shane, signaling with her eyes for him to sit with the other brothers.
After Hazel Yates sat down next to Audrey Sutton, she pulled up the news of their marriage on her phone and showed it to Audrey Sutton, "Audrey, try to rember. Look at these photos, he’s Shane, you married him a month ago. Do you rember?"
Audrey Sutton glanced at the photos, then at Shane himself, and firmly said, "It’s photoshopped, I didn’t get married."
Shane felt anxious and angry, almost wishing he could have her put on a wedding dress and go through the ceremony at the chapel again.
Hazel Yates added, "We’ll show you the marriage certificate after dinner."
Audrey Sutton: "I don’t need proof to know it’s fake. Even if I wanted to marry him, you all wouldn’t agree, would you?"
Everyone at the table stared in silence at Shane.
Shane held his teacup so tightly his knuckles went white.
Furious.
Very furious!
It’s one thing not to admit he’s her husband, but to say he’s old?
When she stepped in for the bride, she said he was handso.
He hastily took a sip of tea to calm his nerves.
Otherwise, he might spew a mouthful of old blood.
Throughout the al, it seed like Audrey Sutton was her usual self, chatting and laughing with everyone.
Except for the topics that included nothing about Shane.
After lunch, Hazel Yates suggested that Audrey Sutton stay at ho for a few days to see if she could rember anything.
Right now, she didn’t rember Shane at all, so taking her ho was out of the question.
All they could do was hope that in two or three days, she’d recall sothing.
...
Back at The Suttons’ house, Audrey Sutton went straight to her room.
General was sleeping at the foot of her bed.
When they went to the cruise for the wedding, Shane originally wanted to leave General at a pet store, but Audrey Sutton said to take him ho and have her fourth brother look after him for two days.
Seeing General made her think of Shane.
Lying beside General, she hugged him, gently stroking his soft fur, as if asking him, or perhaps talking to herself, "Do you miss Daddy?"
General wagged his tail.
"Do you think Daddy doesn’t like ? He didn’t save when I was drowning. Is that too much? Do you think I should dislike him?"
General, of course, couldn’t answer her.
Audrey Sutton furrowed her eyebrows, took a deep breath, and said, "But I really miss him now."
Actually, she didn’t intend to pretend she had amnesia initially; it was just a sudden whim when her mom asked her if she rembered upon waking up.
She didn’t know what the point was, just wanted to see if when this marriage temporarily didn’t exist, would he be anxious, would he miss her like how she missed him at this mont...
After lying on the bed for a while, she heard her phone in her bag beep, and Audrey Sutton got up to check it.
She hadn’t even had a chance to assure her dorm mates she was safe; they were all asking about her in the group chat.
Last night, Laura Yates called her about so recomndation arrangent.
In the midst of chatting, Audrey Sutton opened Kuaikan and found her comic’s data had significantly increased.
While browsing the comnts, she found past a bunch of urging updates there were five consecutive million Kuaikan coin rewards.
"Oh my God!" Audrey Sutton couldn’t help but exclaim quietly, screenshotting it to the dorm group, she said, "I feel like I’m being pampered."
Barry Barrett: My gosh? How much is five million Kuaikan coins? Fifty thousand bucks?
Seraphina Vaughn: Our hotpot for the rest of the sester is secured.
Flora Lane: In two minutes, I want all the info on this person.
Audrey Sutton: I really want to know who this is too.
Barry Barrett: Comrade Sutton, did you ever have a suitor you didn’t tell us about?
Seraphina Vaughn: Haven’t you considered it could be her wealthy husband?
In front of the screen, Audrey Sutton paused at Seraphina Vaughn’s comnt.
Such a grand gesture does seem like Shane’s style, but he wouldn’t read this kind of comic.
So Audrey Sutton replied: No way, he doesn’t even know the na of my comic.
Flora Lane: For the Third Young Master, checking if you’ve ever had an abortion or miscarriage is trivial, so tracking your comic should be easier, right?
Audrey Sutton: Flora, can you not curse ?
Barry Barrett: If it were the Third Young Master, he’d just transfer the money to you directly. Why go through the platform and lose half to them?
Seraphina Vaughn: That’s the thrill, you wouldn’t understand.
Audrey Sutton looked at the reward timing. Last night at that ti, she was already asleep.
She wasn’t sure what he was doing on the boat.
But thinking it over, she still found it unlikely to be him, primarily because she thought he wouldn’t know about her comic; secondly, she felt Barry Barrett made a good point.
If he wanted to make her happy, wouldn’t transferring the money directly be better?
The most crucial reason is that Audrey Sutton felt he couldn’t do sothing so romantic, he wouldn’t think of creating such a surprise for her.
Outsiders saw them as a loving couple, but Audrey Sutton knew the real situation; he probably didn’t care about her inner feelings, let alone secretly rewarding her like this.
Having ruled out Shane, Audrey Sutton truly couldn’t think of anyone else.
Could it be that a glamorous romance is awaiting her?
