Shane Warner held Audrey Sutton’s hand as they walked out of the restaurant, asking her, "What did you want to ask just now?"
Audrey thought for a mont, noticing the crowd around them made it inconvenient to discuss, so she led him to the zebra crossing to wait for the green light, saying, "Let’s enjoy ourselves first, I’ll tell you when we get ho tonight."
Shane Warner frowned, wondering if her sudden change of mind ant she didn’t want to share, "Don’t forget what I told you, don’t overdo it, don’t take any risks to prove yourself."
Audrey thought for a mont and said, "Then help with sothing."
Shane Warner: "Go on."
Audrey tiptoed and whispered in his ear, "Help find out if Clarissa Morgan and Brother Sterling are divorced."
Knowing he might scold her for ddling, Audrey quickly added, "It’s not gossip; I really need this information. Ask for first, I’ll explain the details tonight."
Shane Warner looked at her skeptically, afraid she was setting a trap for him.
Audrey then deliberately put on a worried look, saying, "You saw it too, Clarissa Morgan just isn’t over you. She must have said sothing indecent to you earlier, right? I didn’t want to ddle, but I’m afraid she’ll pull so stunt. As long as she’s around, I’m on edge. Think about it, if she finds out I’m pregnant and tries so nasty trick to fra , what then? Even if I have the baby safely, we can’t watch our child every second when they go to school. What if that woman goes crazy and harms the child?"
Audrey felt she really acted passionately in that scene.
Shane Warner looked serious as he seed lost in thought, then he took out his phone from his pocket, dialed Faye Xavier, and while crossing the street, said to the other end, "Help check if Quentin Sterling is divorced."
Within minutes, Faye Xavier sent a WhatsApp voice ssage back: "Master Shane, you were right, they’ve been divorced for so ti now, and not a whisper about it. I thought they were always so loving, what happened? Could it be so conspiracy leading to a fake divorce?"
Shane Warner didn’t answer Faye’s question, put away his phone, and looked at Audrey, "Now that you know, what’s your plan?"
"We’ll discuss it later, Bear is waiting for us! Let’s hurry!"
In the Sector C arcade, a vast exhibit hall was filled with all kinds of claw machines, categorized by the rchandise inside, with varying prices.
Seeing the dazzling array of dolls and figurines, Audrey’s sparkling eyes shone like little stars, and she was captivated, "This one is so cute!"
"And this one looks so nice too."
"Wow, look, this is the little bunny from my last comic book!"
Shane Warner couldn’t differentiate between the dolls, to him, they were all just ’dolls’.
Nearly thirty, Shane had no interest in these dolls.
Moreover, dressed in this attire, drawing attention from caras, he rely gave a mild reminder to the thrilled Audrey, "Weren’t we looking for your friend?"
"Oh, right!" Audrey stood on tiptoe to look around, then lowered her head while taking out her phone, "I didn’t expect this place to be so big, I’ll ask Bear where they are."
Before Audrey could dial, Shane Warner pointed with his chin in a direction, "Over there."
At the sa ti, Audrey saw Barry Barrett waving at her, so she smiled and hurried over with Shane Warner.
Simon Sue was still full of playfulness, disguised in a baseball cap and mask, changing from the clothes he wore at the event to a more inconspicuous hoodie, now operating a claw machine, while Flora Lane pointed inside saying, "That one, that one, I like that one."
Barry had a few dolls already in his arms, and Audrey casually picked one up, "Did you guys win these?"
Barry looked admiringly at Simon Sue, "Handso Mr. Sue caught them! His skills are amazing, gets them every ti!"
Flora agreed, nodding, "Really amazing, Audrey, just tell him which one you like!"
"Really?" Audrey and Barry crowded around to watch Simon Sue’s performance.
Seraphina Vaughn returned with a bunch of ga coins, muttering, "I just refuse to believe I can’t catch anything today!"
Shane Warner stood outside their lively group, instantly feeling excluded from their ’youthful energy’ circle.
Especially as he watched Simon Sue skillfully catch a doll, and Audrey’s face filled with admiration, his heart grew even more displeased.
Audrey pointed inside the claw machine, "Try catching that one, it’s Stitch."
Simon Sue handed the doll he’d caught to Flora, "This machine won’t work anymore, need to switch. Catching dolls is a bit of an art, with probabilities involved, you need to observe carefully, blindly grabbing will cost you."
Saying that, Simon Sue moved to size up another machine.
Barry went over and patted Seraphina Vaughn’s shoulder, "Did you hear, blindly grabbing will cost you."
Seraphina Vaughn: "I don’t believe it, I’ll definitely fish it out!"
Barry and Audrey exchanged helpless smiles and shook their heads, then Barry said to Audrey, "Let’s keep catching."
Shane Warner watched as Audrey strolled over to Simon Sue’s side, and couldn’t help but clear his throat loudly, "Ahem—"
The overly dramatic cough successfully caught Audrey’s attention.
Only then did Audrey realize she had left Shane Warner behind, she rushed over with a smile and took his hand, asking, "Do you know how to catch them?"
Shane Warner scoffed, "Child’s play."
Audrey raised an eyebrow, sensing an opportunity, and quickly pulled him over to a blind box machine she had been eyeing, saying, "Then help catch this, I’m just one short of completing the set."
Shane Warner walked to the machine, carefully examining the instructions above.
Audrey assud he had played before, but with a different machine, so she was full of anticipation for his skills as he read the instructions.
The machine was QR code-enabled, and Shane Warner took out his phone to pay, costing fifty per try.
The reason Audrey chose this relatively expensive machine was firstly because she wanted to complete her blind box; secondly, she trusted Shane Warner’s skills.
Watching Shane Warner operate the control wheel to move the claw with apparent mastery, Audrey pointed to the edge of the corner, "This one, catch this one, I feel like it’s the one I want!"
He swung the claw, released it with fluidity, but it ca up empty with nothing caught.
Audrey laughed awkwardly, encouraging him, "Aim and try again."
