Under the night, the snow started falling again.

The snowflakes were noticeably larger than in the morning, with a thin layer of snow already gathering on the parked vehicles by the roadside.

"Sir, we’ve arrived."

Inside the car, the driver quietly reminded the man in the backseat who had his eyes closed, feigning sleep.

The man opened his eyes, his gaze slightly intoxicated, seemingly carrying the effects of alcohol.

He turned to look outside the car window, rubbed his aching temples with his hand, picked up a letter-size leather pouch from the adjacent seat, and pushed open the car door to step out.

The driver asked, "Do you need to wait here for you?"

Standing by the car door, the man thought for a mont and said, "No need, you can go back."

"Okay, just give a call if you need anything, sir."

"Alright."

The car drove off, and the street fell silent.

Quentin Sterling stood by the roadside, facing a two-story house, the main entrance of which was just two or three ters away.

He looked up at the second floor, seeing that there was light shining inside the house.

He rang the doorbell, his gaze sowhat vacant, yet seemingly pondering sothing, patiently waiting for soone inside to co and open the door.

A few seconds later, he vaguely heard footsteps approaching the door from within.

The footsteps stopped at the door, pausing for a mont; the person inside hesitated before finally opening the door.

With drunken eyes, Quentin Sterling looked at the woman standing by the door, his lips curling upward, and murmured softly, "Clarissa."

Clarissa Morgan stood by the door, not wanting Quentin Sterling to co in, but fearing the paparazzi might capture sothing, she stepped aside: "Co in first. No need to change your shoes."

Quentin Sterling stood at the door, quietly looking down at Clarissa Morgan, without speaking.

Clarissa Morgan turned and walked towards the living room, asking in a tone devoid of emotion, "Is there sothing you need?"

Quentin Sterling did not respond, trailing behind her, initially surveying the room as if checking whether she was living well.

Clarissa Morgan picked up a glass suspended on the tea table, poured warm water from the constant-temperature pot, and handed it over to Quentin Sterling, asking again, "Why suddenly co looking for ?"

Quentin Sterling looked down at the glass of water before him, smiled, lifted the glass to take a sip, his eyes a little unfocused as he looked at Clarissa Morgan and said, "I kind of missed you."

Upon hearing this, Clarissa Morgan felt no trace of emotion inside; seeing Quentin Sterling drunk, she didn’t feel sorry, calmly reminding him, "We are already divorced."

Quentin Sterling: "So I’ve been holding back from disturbing you, but it seems I can’t anymore, sorry."

Clarissa Morgan sighed, saying: "It’s getting late, you appear to have drunk quite a bit, go back and rest early."

Yet Quentin Sterling seed not to hear Clarissa Morgan’s words, instead pondering to himself, asking, "Did you ever love ?"

Clarissa Morgan: "Does that still matter?"

Quentin Sterling: "I want to know the answer."

Clarissa Morgan lowered her gaze, thinking for a mont before speaking: "If I didn’t love you back then, why would I marry you?"

Upon hearing this, Quentin Sterling suddenly curved his lips into a smile, "That’s good."

Clarissa Morgan looked at Quentin Sterling thoughtfully, feeling a vague sense of unease, suspecting that Quentin Sterling was acting sowhat unusually.

Was it because he had drunk alcohol or... had he discovered sothing?

Clarissa Morgan was unsure, but she knew that falling out with Quentin Sterling would bring no good fruits; she only wanted to divorce amicably, not wanting to offend Quentin Sterling.

"After you moved out, I didn’t dare return ho. It was only today that I gathered the courage to go back to that place."

Clarissa Morgan listened quietly, unsure of what Quentin Sterling intended to say.

Quentin Sterling lifted the glass again, took a sip, and continued, "I went back to tidy up briefly and found you had left so things at ho."

As he spoke, Quentin Sterling picked up the leather pouch at his side, retrieving a ten-inch size black wooden box from within.

Upon seeing the box, Clarissa Morgan’s expression shifted, yet she maintained an expressionless deanor, sitting opposite Quentin Sterling across the coffee table, ready to respond to whatever ca her way.

Quentin Sterling placed the wooden box on the coffee table, speaking in a low tone, his voice flat, "Sorry, initially I didn’t know it was your thing; out of curiosity, I opened it and took a look."

Clarissa Morgan smiled and shook her head, "It’s okay, it’s just a photo album after all; there’s nothing shaful."

Quentin Sterling’s smile was slightly bitter, his bloodshot eyes looking towards the window, taking a deep breath, reminiscing aloud, "When we t, it was during your third year of university, wasn’t it?"

Clarissa Morgan nodded, "Yes, I went to the U.K. for a competition, you happened to see my performance and invited to be the model for your company’s new product."

"So you rember, but that wasn’t our first eting, nor was it randomly watching your performance."

Clarissa Morgan’s expression turned nuanced; she only knew after that collaboration, Quentin Sterling showed interest in pursuing her, she always knew, but since Quentin Sterling didn’t bring it up, she didn’t clarify it either.

"Miles got into trouble at school; coincidentally I was on a business trip to Serephina, and the family called to assist; I found him at the bar, you were there too, drunk, Miles knew your friend, and your friend asked Miles to help take you back to school, so that day, I took you both back; you were really drunk, talking nonsense in the car, almost at school but you still threw up in my car."

Clarissa Morgan recalled, she had a faint impression of the incident.

That day was the first ti she confessed to Shane Warner, full of anticipation, only to find empty joy.

She rembered drinking a lot, her mory was fragnted and she didn’t recall how she returned to the dormitory; only the next day did she hear from her friends, saying that the person who sent them back last night was handso, whispering in her ear about it for days.

Yet she wasn’t interested in it.

"After that encounter, I also thought we’d never et again, but I happened to see a dance competition flyer on the roadside, it featured several people, you weren’t even at the center position, but I imdiately noticed you. That’s why I appeared in the audience at that competition."

Hearing this, Clarissa Morgan’s gaze deepened slightly; it was the first ti she heard these things, not knowing soone silently created opportunities just to be closer to her.

She always thought, it was after a few competition victories that gave her a little fa that Quentin Sterling noticed her...

But why couldn’t the person silently loving her be the one her heart desired?

She had invested so many years for Shane Warner, striving to improve herself, hoping that when she stood beside him, she could hear others saying "What a perfect match," yet in the end she received nothing, how could she resign herself to staying with a man she didn’t love for a lifeti?

From a young age, whether it was her mother or her teachers, they always demanded that she perfect her dance moves; she held high standards for herself, so she always hoped her future partner would be soone she truly loved to feel fulfilled.

Being with Quentin Sterling, she always felt a trace of regret in her heart.

After a period of silence, Clarissa Morgan said: "Thank you, Quentin, I felt very happy during the days with you. But we can’t go back, let’s leave those beautiful monts in mory."
