Audrey’s pregnancy was sothing Clarissa had considered a possibility for a while now, but upon hearing the confird news, she still felt a bit indignant inside.

The thought of another woman having carried Shane’s child was like an unresolved knot in her heart, sothing she couldn’t shake off no matter what.

Just thinking about it made her feel stifled; under no circumstances would she allow this child to co into the world.

Snow had fallen for two consecutive days without any sign of stopping.

On the weekend, Stephen had so ti off and brought both Audrey and Phoebe ho.

During the two days Shane was away on business, Phoebe had enjoyed plenty of roasted wings and pork belly. Returning ho with Hazel Yates looking after her, she naturally didn’t miss out on what she wanted to eat.

Audrey was initially worried about gaining weight during pregnancy, but after agreeing with Phoebe to hit the gym together post-delivery, she started to eat her fill.

However, Shane had never skimd on food for her. If she said sothing wasn’t tasty, he would make sure to prepare other dishes she liked the next ti. So during Shane’s business trip these days, Audrey had already started feeling uneasy and often wanted to call him, but worried about bothering his work, she could only silently wish for his early return.

Audrey stepped out of the car, treading on the soft snow underfoot, and walked shoulders with Phoebe into the house, wanting to leave footprints in the accumulating snow.

Hazel Yates heard the noise from inside and opened the door, and General imdiately slipped out through the crack, wagging its tail excitedly and barking twice at Audrey.

Audrey quickened her pace and ran toward General. Hazel Yates said, "Every day it hears soone approaching from outside, it waits by the door, and now it’s finally seen you."

Hearing Hazel Yates’ words made Audrey’s nose sting a little. She squatted down to hug General, stroked its head, and said, "Good boy, General, Mom and Dad will co get you ho soon!"

Hazel Yates: "Co inside quickly, it’s warm in here."

Phoebe called out loudly: "Mom! I’m here for a al again!"

Hazel Yates laughed joyfully: "I wish you could co every day."

Once inside, General stuck close by Audrey, who imdiately contacted Shane. Learning that he was free, she instantly dialed a video call to him.

When Shane answered, the first thing he saw wasn’t Audrey’s face but a big dog’s head. He slightly frowned before Audrey’s face appeared next to General’s on the screen, and she leaned down to say to General, "Did you see Daddy? Do you miss him?"

Whether General understood Audrey’s words or saw Shane on the screen, it cooperated by barking twice.

Shane asked, "Have you gone back? Isn’t there a heavy snowstorm in Rivia? Why are you running around?"

Hugging General, Audrey replied, "My brother had a break and brought back. You don’t know how much General misses you. Mom said it waits by the door whenever it hears sounds outside."

Audrey thought Shane would be touched by General’s behavior just like her since General was technically his dog. But to her surprise, Shane smoothly asked, "Do you not miss ?"

Phoebe, who was eavesdropping on the side, couldn’t resist interjecting, "Are you two disgustingly sweet or what? Thinking about each other every day as if you’ve been apart for three or five years."

Audrey hadn’t felt embarrassed initially, but Phoebe’s remark left her a bit shy, causing her to change her words to ask Shane, "When will you be back?"

Shane: "Initially, it was planned for tomorrow, and I’ve already booked the ticket. However, they said today that the snow is so heavy all flights are canceled, so I’m not sure about tomorrow."

"Ah? What if it keeps snowing for several days?" After asking, Audrey quickly added, "You’d better stay safe. If there’s nothing urgent, try not to go out. If you must, dress warmly. I should have packed more outfits for you then."

Shane: "Don’t worry, just take care of yourself. I think you should stay at the house these few days; at least with Mom there, I’ll be more at ease."

Audrey: "Don’t worry about . My brother will take care of when I go back, and I’ll manage on my own. Just co back as soon as you can."

Shane: "Okay."

After a few seconds of silence on both sides, Audrey pursed her lips and said, "Should I hang up?"

Shane: "Move your face closer; let take a look."

Phoebe imdiately made a few teasing noises on the side as Audrey reluctantly moved the phone closer to her, her face starting to blush slightly.

The next second, Shane on the video call said, "What have you been sneaking to eat at ho? Your face looks round."

Audrey was taken aback, montarily unsure if she should feel guilty or angry.

Luckily, Phoebe leaned over and joked, "Don’t worry, we’ll make sure to feed your wife until she’s plump and happy."

Hearing Phoebe’s words, Shane deliberately said to Audrey, "Don’t hang around with disreputable people."

Phoebe: "How could you say that? Who’s disreputable?! Don’t you know you should be calling sister-in-law out of courtesy?"

Shane didn’t argue with Phoebe; he acted as though she didn’t exist, speaking only to Audrey, "Mor’s calling; I need to head out, talk to you later."

Audrey nodded: "Okay, rember to bundle up, and even if you’re busy, eat on ti."

Shane: "Sure, wait for to co back."

After hanging up, Audrey went searching for Pea.

General stayed glued to Audrey, following her upstairs when they bumped into Scott coming down. Audrey asked, "Brother, where’s Pea?"

Scott gestured with his chin toward the direction of his room and said, "Asleep in the room."

General was equally enthusiastic upon seeing Scott, since Scott generally took care of it at ho. This big gentle dog knew how to show gratitude—it seed its relationship with Scott was pretty good.

Unlike the ungrateful Pea, who acted indifferent to everyone.

Seeing this, Phoebe returned to the living room, pulling Stephen, who sat on the sofa, saying, "I think we should keep a dog in the future. Cats are too aloof and ignore people. Having one person at ho who ignores is enough; I don’t want a cat to ignore too. A dog could at least accompany on walks."

Stephen just glanced at Phoebe and softly reprimanded her, "Feet down, sit properly."

Pouting, Phoebe obediently lowered her feet, sitting up straight as if she were a student being singled out by a teacher.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Norman peeking down from the upstairs railing and imdiately broke her "good student" deanor, waving to him, "Hey! Six! Co down and bring a couple of gas to play."

Norman scornfully replied, "What’s fun about playing with you? Your skills are poor."

But still, he was already heading down the stairs.
