Faye Xavier deliberately moved a bit closer to Clarissa Morgan, picked up the hot tea that a young fellow had poured for him earlier, took a sip, and said, "I heard you’ve already divorced that young master from the Sterling family?"
Clarissa Morgan didn’t answer imdiately, scrutinizing Faye Xavier with suspicion, as if trying to see through his intentions.
But she knew in her heart that although outsiders might not know about her divorce from Quentin Sterling, anyone who wanted to investigate could easily find out. Especially since Audrey Sutton had already known for so ti, this matter was no longer a secret in Audrey’s circle.
"Why is Mr. Xavier asking this?"
Faye Xavier smiled aningfully and said, "Isn’t it because I see that Miss Morgan is single again? So I wanted to ask if I have a chance?"
Clarissa Morgan: "Mr. Xavier sure knows how to joke."
Faye Xavier: "Why do you think I’m joking? Am I not better than that old married star, Teacher Payne?"
Clarissa Morgan maintained a polite smile: "Teacher Payne and I are just friends."
Faye Xavier: "Then you should consider even more. Besides, I know what you want, and I can help you."
Clarissa Morgan chuckled and asked, "Help with what?"
Faye Xavier: "How about we talk sowhere else?"
Clarissa Morgan looked at Faye Xavier with doubt, trying to figure out what he really wanted to do.
She thought Audrey Sutton probably didn’t know she was coming today, so she certainly hadn’t planned anything in advance. Faye Xavier’s sudden approach shouldn’t be at Audrey’s behest.
After a mont’s thought, Clarissa Morgan said, "There’s a flower house nearby, let’s go there."
Faye Xavier nodded: "Let’s go."
The flower house was located at the very edge of the estate, relatively secluded and private.
With the temperature regulated by the flower house, even flowers that shouldn’t appear in winter blood beautifully inside.
In the center of the room was a long wooden table, adorned with candlesticks, a vase, and a tea set.
The fragrance of wood mixed with the rich aroma of flowers, as if spring had been found in this snow-covered winter.
"Please sit, Miss Morgan." Faye Xavier gentlemanly pulled out a chair for Clarissa Morgan, then sat down himself on her right and said, "I know you dislike Audrey Sutton; she’s a thorn in your heart that must be removed."
Clarissa Morgan: "Why are you telling this?"
Faye Xavier smiled slightly, leisurely picked up a teacup, slowly poured water into it, and handed it to Clarissa Morgan, saying, "Didn’t I say? I’ll help you."
Clarissa Morgan scoffed: "Then why are you helping ?"
Faye Xavier: "Lan Irving is soone I watched grow up. You could say we’re like family, inseparable. I can’t co to terms with her death, though she committed suicide. The reason was Shane Warner and Audrey Sutton, so we can collaborate, can’t we?"
Clarissa Morgan had known about Faye Xavier’s relationship with Lan Irving before, so what he said didn’t seem to have any flaws.
But she also wondered, given Faye Xavier’s deep relationship with Shane Warner, would he betray Shane?
With this distrust, Clarissa Morgan said, "I don’t trust you. Don’t forget why you showed up here today."
Faye Xavier poured himself a cup of tea, tasted it, and said with a smile, "Actually, I wanted to talk to you about this a long ti ago, but never had the chance. Seeing you here today, I take it as fate."
Clarissa Morgan probed: "Then what do you plan to do? Aren’t you afraid Shane will co after you?"
Faye Xavier: "If I were afraid, I wouldn’t have co here to tell you these things. He’s selfish, always putting himself first. After marriage, he cares even less about us, his brothers who’ve fought alongside him for years. He’s no longer the Shane Warner he once was. After Lan left, I slowly realized this and haven’t wanted to work for him anymore."
Clarissa Morgan: "Alright, if you want to believe you, you’ll have to show so concrete actions."
Faye Xavier: "What does Miss Morgan want to do?"
Clarissa Morgan: "Audrey Sutton doesn’t guard against you now. It’s easy for you to do sothing to her, no need to wait for the right mont. Just ask her to the stairs and push her down. Whether she or the child in her belly gets hurt, if you do that, I’ll believe what you’ve said is true. Do you dare?"
Faye Xavier knowingly smiled: "What’s so difficult about that? But hasn’t Miss Morgan forgotten what I ntioned before?"
Clarissa Morgan: "What?"
Faye Xavier stretched his hand across the table, his fingers slowly rubbing the back of Clarissa Morgan’s hand, looking at her with an ambiguous expression: "I, Xavier, have no other hobbies but to like beautiful won like Miss Morgan. I eat and drink well now, and the salary Shane Warner pays is indeed not low. It’s not like I have to walk this path..."
Pretending to pause, Faye Xavier stood up, slowly moved behind Clarissa Morgan’s chair, leaned over, and whispered in an ambiguous tone by her ear: "Miss Morgan’s performance will determine my choice. If Miss Morgan is willing to provide services, I can beco her powerful helper. Not to ntion the child in Audrey Sutton’s belly, I could even stage a fake accident on the way back, burying her and the child together."
What Faye Xavier said was very tempting to Clarissa Morgan, and her gaze wavered.
After enduring Nolan Hawke’s tornt, she’d co to believe she had nothing left to lose.
She also knew that she was too tainted to deserve Shane Warner anymore.
Yet she didn’t want to see Audrey Sutton, the woman sleeping beside Shane and enjoying his love each day.
Now, she just wanted to destroy the beauty between them, at any cost!
Faye Xavier intentionally brushed his shoulder against Clarissa Morgan’s neck, speaking with a breath that lightly touched her skin: "What does Miss Morgan think?"
Clarissa Morgan suddenly snapped back to reality, her gaze becoming resolute as she replied, "I can agree to your terms, but the plan you just ntioned must be completed today. Audrey Sutton cannot appear alive before Shane again!"
Faye Xavier: "No problem. I was her driver today anyway, so it naturally aligns. I just need to steer the car into the river on the way back, confirm she’s beyond saving, then call for help and report it as an accident. At most, I’ll get a few scoldings. How could anyone suspect I planned it?"
The more Clarissa Morgan listened, the more excited and expectant she beca. She thought Faye Xavier’s plan was feasible.
Moreover, only he could smoothly and unnoticed complete the task because Audrey didn’t guard against him, and Shane wouldn’t bla him either.
Thus, Clarissa didn’t shy away from Faye Xavier’s touch but said, "Let’s go to the guest room, it’s not convenient here."
Faye Xavier smiled in satisfaction: "I like straightforward people like Miss Morgan, knowing what’s important. Besides, hasn’t Miss Morgan used affairs like this for transactions quite a bit?"
This remark clearly hit a sore spot for Clarissa Morgan. She stood up with a solemn face and walked towards the door of the flower house: "Cut the chatter."
